Medium cherry color, med concentration, viscosity is med+. Ripe strawberry, cherries on the nose, along with oak and some earthiness. On the palate there's a decent amount of heat, high amount of tannins / very astringent. Not much fruit, dull, not bright. This is only hitting middle to the back of the tongue. It's ok, but lacks the complexity and elegance of better Pinots, particularly Sta. Rita Hills Pinots. At $22 at Costco I suppose I can do better. The Pali Huntington is much better in this price range. 86-87

Amazing wine. Lots of well balanced fruit -cherry, blueberry and some spice. Medium mid-palate and medium finish. Very tasty and lasted for 4 nights( kept it in the fridge with air pumped out). Taste stayed the same throughout. An amazing deal at $32.

Immediately upon opening this was nothing short of fermented Kool-Aid - absolutely horrible! Poised to empty down the sink, I allowed it to sit and get it's bearing and steeled myself for a second taste (yes - the first was THAT bad!). Became drinkable with some air, not to mention some cheese and almonds, showing a bit of cherry cola and red fruit, but not *nice*.

A very well sorted pinot with earthy undertones, spices with glazed cherries and raspberries. Slightly syrupy but the wine had good depth. Smooth texture and moderately long aftertaste. Overall, this was a very flavourful pinot on the palate but with great lightness in the body.

Good body, glycerol ripe fruit, not much acid, not much oak. Pleasant now but not to keep.

tannic, highly acidic and sharp when opened. after one hour will soften just slightly. This wine is way past its prime and almost undrinkable

Aromas of earth, rose, dark berry, rhubarb, cherry. Cherry, pepper, oak on the palate. Fairly simple, but nice, lush, balanced.

Absolutely gorgeous tonight with grilled rabbit-ginger sausages. Red-fruited, balanced acidity, smoky, mineral-laden and, with time, smelling of baking spices. I wish we had more of this wine.

The fruit has tamed down a bit and while I thought that would be a good thing, I am not quite sure. Don't get me wrong, this is still wonderful, but it lacks a tiny bit of intrigue compared to the last bottle. Maybe the difference between a second date and a third: still fun, but a little of the luster has worn off. thedrunkencyclist.com

Light crimson in color with some bricking at the edges, this wine shows smoke, red currant, dark cherry and hibiscus on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied with cranberry, minerals and bright acidity. The finish is assertive with tart cherry and black tea elements.

Recent purchased for $25US retail, this was an excellent value that drank well above its price point. It paired well with my GF and my leftover Thanksgiving foods. Recommended to drink now - 2017.

A Few Blind Chardonnays (Washington, DC): Smells of fresh laundry, some white peach, apricot and bright flowers, a some spicy-herbal notes. Medium body, medium acid, full of pear, green and yellow apples and honeydew melon, some ruby red grapefruit. White tea and a spicy herbal elements linger on the finish. Not as much nerve as the 2011 but very nice for this style.

I don't know what it is about Alma Rosa with me….but I absolutely LOVE these Pinots! Drank a bunch of 05's…and am always on the lookout for these wines but never see them. So…..when I saw these show up at a Costco for $21…I was thrilled! Still as I remember…..very easy drinking, yet with some contemplation….sweet feminine cherry, rhubarb, raspberry fruit….just an amazing cinnamon/sandalwood/dried rose floral spice….balanced well with soft wood tannins, some strawberry field earthiness, slight orange peel-tobacco-red wine vinegar tang……ALL in a mellow, well balanced, easy going, sneaky complex package. Kind of reminds me of a young and mellow Faiveley Cos de Cortons! Really tasty stuff here for the money!
