No formal notes. Great right out of the bottle. Excellent on day 2. Day 3 there was an abundance of oak which was not perceptible earlier.

Crimson in color. 15.9% ABV. Black fruits, olive brine, game and smoke on the nose. Medium body with strong acidity. Perfect texture and mouthfeel. Blueberries, blackberries and coffee on the palate. Exceptional finish. Drinks younger than the vintage on the label. Should cruise for another 2-3 years.

Opened last night with dinner, with it showing quite a bit of acidity. 'bout 1/2 bottle left, re-tasting a day later. Nice and cool, ideal temp, and FWIW, goes great with a So Cal summer evening. When cool, this exhibits a green melon, with tart apple and lemon acidity, along with what is akin to a licorice/fennel note--just a shading of black licorice, I guess would be my descriptor. As it warms up, a little whiff of coconut/vanilla shows, and the fruit begins to fatten up some more, almost veering towards a yellow apple and lemon peel, hell, and even some orange oil. I tell you what, this is really two different expressions of wine based on the serving temp. At cool temps, I like this much more, as it's more vibrant and energetic. With a warmer temp, it's for me not as good, more easygoing and loses its edge. Given all this, I would say to drink now and serve cooler to really enjoy what is here, FWIW.

Dark ruby in color with a bit of forest floor and oak aromas. Great berry fruit and briery Zin notes. The 15.8% abv is well hidden. This shows some of the roundness that I associate with Rossi Ranch. No hard edges and drinking well now. Best of the very few 2013s I've tried so far.

Bright and crunchy red fruits, this is still a little candied/jammy, and could have used a couple more years.

Opened at the restaurant and sat for 30 minutes before the first pour...fruit forward and smooth...long finish...likely worthy of a higher score if not for the bottle being a bit warm.

Wonderfully zesty and fruit-forward zin, with red fruit profile of blackberries, sour cherries and orange zest. I really enjoyed the acidity streak that flows through the finish, and the tannins have softened enough to compliment the fruit. It's drinking wonderfully now but should continue to evolve nicely over then next two-three years.

A nose of some fruit and spice, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied kitchen sink red blend, with cherry, plum, some licorice on spice on finish. Carlisle makes great wines, this missed the mark some, a bit disjointed. www.winelx.com

Unique. Dark violet color with a clear rim. The nose shows spicy black & purple fruit. The palate has a high acid character right away. It gives off more of an apricot note than anything else initially before the spiciness & brambly character emerges. Nimble & focused Zinfandel. Silky tannins. Very nice.

Maybe this should be scored higher. Creamy and ripe but also maintaining acid and freshness. Violets lavender garrigue spice but mostly medium red fruit. Raspberry and strawberry. Mike officer should be thanked for saving some.of these old vines. The only problem is over consumption at 15.4% hurts more Than 12.5% but apparently we aren't supposed to talk like that now for fear of being ipob snobs

Have been cellaring well since I received from Carlisle. Popped and started pouring. This bottle is great. Great concentrated dark fruit with some real tarry dirt and a little white pepper on the nose and pallet. Almost northern Rhone early on. I am really glad I decided to wait on this bottle because at 9 years old, it was really good. A little tartness after open about 4 hours so I'm not sure this will get any better.

Maybe a little VA on the nose? Or maybe just showing some heat, as others have noticed. Quite black fruit profile, a little smooth and soft on the palate, seemingly a little big for the structure. Moderate finish with repeating black fruit notes. This has not pulled together yet. Hopefully will improve as it's a step down from the usual expectations from Carlisle.

Honeydew melon and apple with citrus on the nose, a little lanolin, maybe. The mouth gains weight toward a nice finish, a rich mouthfeel, orange peel. Persistent.

This is a cool wine. Low alcohol, but has a relatively full body with a relatively thick, silky smooth texture. Lots of dark fruit, plenty of acidity on the finish. Not much tannin.
