This was too earthy for my taste. In addition, the bouquet was off-putting, as though the wine was oxidized, even though we had it within a half an hour of opening it. The mouth-feel was a bit gritty and the fruit muddy. Just not to my taste.

This is Carmenere at its finest! It's ready, willing and able to be enjoyed. The aroma is intense and the wine is smooth and full-bodied. The flavour wells up with a long finish.

To old. Never buy wine dressed in a hemp covering. The wine does not improve. Pour this on the grill chips.

Nice style that drinks fine now and may be enhanced over next 2-5 yrs.

Dark purple in glass. Nose is dark, slight musty quality with forest floor mixed bramble berry. Need to sit out for awhile. Palate is tart ripe fruit - dark cherry/berry and some very subtle green pepper or other herbacous quality, subtle but there under the fruit. Rapidly get that hint of musty/earthy note but really is in check with the rest. Not that overt barnyard experience. Tannin is light and, as per note on bottle, the mouth feel is kind of velvety and nice. Finishs is a little bitter, but with food this mellows. For 17$ CAN - great price and experience.

The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry. It tastes like cherry, forest floor, oak and black pepper. The body is medium/full. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

The tannins have mellowed and this wine is ready to enjoy; however, it should still improve with more aging.

Nice offerring from Opimian, this Carmenere had all the typicity it should, including the extremely herbaciousness one associates with the lower priced ones, quite tasty and good QPR - Dark, full bodied with a nose of plum, herbs, blackfruit, spice and vanilla, decent structure and balanced, sweet on the palate with good length, nice (85 Points).

Posted this on another Cab that may be mislabled as familia reserva...my bottle clearly states "Family Reserva"...28$ from Opimian Society in CAN.

Did not like the first try of this medium price average Cab from Chile. This go around is after a touch cooling out of fridge and after sitting in cellar for a few months. Overall, seems a notch better, but nothing more than a solid average, nice lighter style Cab. That fact is refreshing I must say.

Nose is lighter medium level cherry/berry fruit. Palate is a little gritty with tannin, and notable sour cherry tannin. Transitions to dark currants/blackberry and some tobacco/smokey quality. Nice enough.

Clear,Medium ruby with the legs quick to form and staining the glass. Nose of Blackberry, ripe cherry, chocolate and a hint of earthy white pepper. Palate is clean with Med + acidity, Medium + Tannin, Med + alcohol, Med + body and flavour intensity. The fruit, acidity and tannin is balanced but the wine is still developing and can age. Medium length that pleasantly lingers. I think this can only get better with time but with decanting is very drinkable now.

Not sure what to make of this at this point. I think needs time to settle and sort itself out...Nose is classic, dark fruit and some light oak. Palate is med/full bodied with similar notes and some tobacco, but there is a slight astringent/bitter quality that coats my palate and lingers...

Not liking this right now, but just got this case from a recent shipment and i won't touch again till next year.

Lovely, one of the highest scoring Opimian whites we've had, very tasty and fresh and great QPR - Gold, full bodied with a nose of lime, grapefruit, lemon and grass, nice acidic backbone, good balance, fresh, lively on the palate with excellent length, nice! (90 Points).
