11/10/2018 - pjaines wrote: NRWhat a great Cote Rotie! Seriously, it has all that bacon aromas, blood notes and acidity that you would expect of the northern rhone. Medium bodied and with fresh tannins. The fact this comes from Bordeaux makes it more confusing; I'd happily stand this up as a ringer in northern rhone line up. |

11/3/2018 - johnrm Likes this wine: 88 pointsOpened 3h before tasting. Deep colour, quite a rich nose as it warmed but 'meaty' rather than fruity. Some fruit on the palate but rich, deep, meaty flavours - not the usual Bordeaux fruit. It improved with a rare sirloin steak and was a good partner to soft blue cheese later. After 4-5 hours there was some fragrance and deep plummy and damson fruit with integrated tannins and a slightly spicy finish. Not what I expected, though. A 'curate's egg' - good in parts but it didn't form a satisfying whole for me. The richness perhaps implies that it needs more time but I'm not convinced there is enough fruit to sustain it. |

10/26/2018 - mdefreitas wrote: 93 pointsPurchased on release and perfectly stored since. Perfect cork. A bit less severe than my last bottle. While still youthful, this was more accessible, with black fruit, tree bark, earth and gravel. The tannins are smoother than I last remembered, but still evident. Crisp, focused, medium length finish. Drinks nicely now, but still on the upswing. |

10/26/2018 - djhammond Likes this wine: 94 pointsTasted annually, this has developed over the last year, and is pretty much at its peak plateau of drinking. The nose still has winegum aromas of blackberry and plum, but also with cedar once again prominent. As per previous tastings, it really punches above its weight on the palate with great depth and perfect balance with good firm tannin. The finish is 20 seconds plus, but its Achilles heel is a residual bitterness at the end, and age does not seem to address this. However, it is out performing second and third growths of the vintage, and still is exceptional value for money. In spite of the year, I feel it only needs minimal time in the decanter, and indeed, it starts to lose its fruit after a few hours. |

10/25/2018 - BEDouglas Likes this wine: 95 pointsHalf way through the box, and still delighted. It puts a smile on my date’s face and suits me well. Our friends love a break from domestic wines. My comments are “ classic Bordeaux”. I personally will drink what we have and order more for near term consumption. The fruit is ripe when opened, but goes to the background after a while. Notes of tobacco and coffee take over after an hour or so. Earlier it is for my date, later for me. I want to buy a couple of more boxes. |

10/20/2018 - Francophile1 Likes this wine: 90 pointsA solid effort for the price, but not as good as the 2000 vintage. It might be because it is not yet aged as long as the 2000 vintage, but my gut tells me this won't ever rise to the same level even with more time in the bottle. Nevertheless, I am not going to open anymore of the 2005 vintage for at least a few more years in hopes it gets even better. 4 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

Medium bodied with tobacco, red and black fruits, good acids and a bit of tannin on the finish. In a good place, I will probably drink these over the next 5 years. Solid 90 points |

8/12/2018 - WineKnurd Likes this wine: 88 pointsPopped for “Salmon on the Blackstone” night. Grassy, tropical nose; pineapple with a nice citrus finish on the palate. Some zesty acidity with hints of wet stone and sour melon rind. Nicely balanced. Won’t make you forget Carbonneaux but you aren’t paying for Carbonneaux either. Overall Evaluation B+ (88). |

10/12/2018 - VenturePlanet Likes this wine: 90 pointsGood, but not great. Loved the 2010. This one took a bit...about 90 min...to open. Then released a bouquet of plum, peppermint and cinnamon, pipe tobacco clove and oak. Pleasant mouthfeel, balanced fruit and tannins, low to med acidity, with signature PL chalkiness. The finish doesn’t linger, though. |

10/2/2018 - Sandro Likes this wine: 93 pointsA very nice bottle, sadly my last one. Has well developed, this was the best bottle of a case of 6. Still fresh citrus fruits, however, I don't think it will improve further. Drink within the next 2-3 years. |

9/25/2018 - wineaficionado Likes this wine: 93 pointsColor: Golden yellow. Nose: Cream, pineapple, orange blossom. Very intense. Mouth: Very smooth. It has started to loose its fat but at the same time has also started to become a little bit tired. Still quite vibrant and an aroma of a tropical fruit salad. A toasting aroma like toasted nuts, too. Still an excellent wine but I would drink up in the next 2 years. |

9/20/2018 - bdisk1235 Likes this wine: 88 pointsDark purple with a tinge of garnet. Bouquet of graphite and dark cherry. On the palate its relatively simple, but well integrated with good acid, and some drying tannin at the end. Short finish. Overall, enjoyable for a good "weeknight" wine. Would drink now or in the next couple years. |

9/16/2018 - thalver wrote: NRThis seemed to be somewhat lacking in fullness of flavors. Muted mineral and forest floor, the fruit has largely subsided. Enough acid and tannin to provide cut and balance. An ok luncheon claret. I don't see it developing much further 87-8ish |
