Good under $30 '05 Bordeaux. A bit austere, medium body, no formal notes. unsure where this wine is going.

Dark, dry. Black current, tar, forest floor. A bit closed down at the moment, finish is relatively short; tannins still present. Mellowed out after being open for a while; needs at least a couple of hours to breathe. Best days still ahead.

Bright citrus, orange and honeysuckle in the nose open to a vibrant, fresh, refreshing blast of grapefruit, lemons and vanilla in the crisp finish.

The espresso bean, truffle and cherry tones in the nose are followed by a medium bodied, soft, forward wine with a kiss of smoke, oak and black cherries in the finish that can be enjoyed in its youth.

Not Chateau Y or Haut-Brion, but darn tasty and great value. If you like white Bordeaux (not Sauternes), then more than worthy to sip. All the elements, especially the structure of Semillion. A winner!!!

My previous note said to cellar it for at least another year, yet I opened another one. At least this time I left even more for the 2nd day knowing how much better it would be. And it was; even better than last time. So definitely either wait at least 2-3 years or give it a good 12-24 hour decant (open it, decant, put it back in the bottle, and put it back in the cellar for the next day). Excellent value.

Feels very traditional. Not big or complex but balanced and well made. Solid. It was better the first night than second.

Overall a good pace of development so far. A very earthy base in the nose. Also has leather and tobacco.

Unlike the 2006 (which I find quite tannic) the tannins are polished and fine grained, and more consistent with the 2008. The wine is a bit restrained in the mouth now with primary notes of tobacco, cassis, iron, and lighter notes of coffee and bitter chocolate.

There is a decent finish on this. Right now this is down the fairway but has not yet developed the complexity I desire. As a result this is good but does not merit a higher score yet.

This seems unlikely to go beyond 12-15 years and probably will be best enjoyed over the next 5-7 years.

A bit dumb at the moment with a tannic edge. Better win food showing graves smokiness and some savory notes. Hands off for a few years.

PNP - big fruit driven nose on opening. Dense, opaque color. Medium to full bodied, big fruit flavors. Ready to drink but can age for years. Excellent!

Buttery, yellow citrus fruits with green apples and vanilla bean create an aromatic profile. This wine is zesty, fresh and sweet with a splash of grapefruit and lemon peel in the finish. 90-92 Pts

Bought in june 2010 and kept two years under condition 1, the other three under condition 2 (see my profile). Color: dark purple-ruby. Nose: plum, smoke, a bit bacon. Taste: at first still a bit tannic, but soon opening up. Plum, cherries and blackberries, also some chocolate and Bordeaux minerals. Good concentration, quite full and nicely rich. Medium (to full) body, medium finish. A quite classy, rather delicious wine that offers a lot to enjoy. A remarkably good effort in this difficult year. Kept the way I did it: maybe a bit upward potential with one more year of cellaring., but I agree with Oulier who mentioned earlier, that this is not a wine for (much further) keeping. 89-90.

A very delicious wine showing its age by a tinge of orange around the rim and a palate reminiscent of prune, raisin, dried cherry, plum, balsamic notes, and hints of forest floor and mushroom. Its pleasing acidity, well integrated tannins, and a smooth finish make it a good candidate for drinking it with or without food. And better yet, it is ready to drink now.

Curious about some of the reviews here; fruit and tannin are quite well resolved but still in balance, with robust structure and good length. Benefited greatly from a 1hr decant, really rounded out, and was still good day 2. Forest fruits, sweet and smoky tobacco, moderate length. A touch more oak than I enjoy. A good value at its peak. No need to wait unless you like your Bordeaux super mature. I think it is in balance now.

A nicely balanced Bordeaux with licorice, tobacco, dark berries, and bacon on the nose. The color is a deep ruby and the palate offers mushroom, wet soil, dark berries, licorice, and sour cherry finishing nicely with chocolate and spices. Good acidity and tannins. Ready to drink but can go for few more years.
