Red cherries, mixed spices, some oak and gravel, even a bit of ripe strawberry hiding there. The palate is a bit weak compared to the nose. Structure doesn't feel built for aging: soft but present tannin, medium - acidity. The mouthfeel is short of silky and the finish could be longer. I am probably generous on a 90, but it does have a fantastic nose and drinks well. |
