This is a little bit more difficult to get at than the 2010 was - for one thing it starts out with a bead of CO2 so it needs a good heavy shake to get into form. It feels denser and still takes a little bit of time to unwind and show what's behind the primary fruit. Eventually some stony earth comes into play, but until then it's something you enjoy for its purity and suavity without necessarily a ton of personality.

Light to medium yellow; hay, flinty nose, some sweetness; quite lean and acidic, well tasting but probably too young currently, missing developed flavours, which seems to potentially be hiding there; nice, but wait!

Dark cerise. Restrained nose of rose petal, confection, minerals. Intensely focused palate of violets, violets, violets, with some hints of Turkish delight and red currants. Prominent astringent tannins. Tremendous length. Very approachable but probably at least 5 years from peak?

I hoped for more from this. Clean chardonnay fruit, some oak which came through after a while, pleasant but not really very exciting

This is really excellent tonight with penetrating dark red fruit, earth, sous bois, baking spice, a subtle tarry nuance and very soft tannins on the long, long finish. Not a power house, but impeccably balanced and nuanced. Delicious and drinking beautifully with 2 or 3 hours of air.

Again, this is a really good Bourgogne with bright, midweight, green and citrus fruits, lots of minerality and a firm acidic core. Very good depth for a $20 Bourgogne.

Pale/medium straw. Nose shows creamy pear fruit, freshness, touch of lemon, white flowers, hint of spice. Medium/full bodied, attractive, slightly creamy pear fruit, touch of butter, quite generous, very good length finish. Not overly complex but perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious.

Wasn't giving much on pop n' pour. Tight aromatics with some light notes red fruit and florals. Palate has good structure but fruit is hard right now. Will hold remaining bottles for a few years to let this gain flesh.

Very tropical, with an almost Jurancon-like tang to it. I would never guess this as a Chablis, however it is an intriguing glass of wine, but not something I'd return to quickly

Almost always a personal favorite Bourgogne, the 2012 is almost as good as the 2010. Lots of apple aromas and flavors with some lemon peel hints on the nose. Good length and nuance for its level.

Bright clear color. Nose offers up white flowers, nuts., oak. On palate Citrus and white orchard fruits with vibrant, mouth tingling acidic minerality. Nice individual village vineyard.

My first, but not certainly not last Dublere. Transparant color and a delicate floral nose with lots of violets. Very open, light, juicy on the palate with rubarb and strawberry. The acidity and tannin is there, but just better balanced than other (good) Volnay producers I have tried. This is a pure, fresh and energetic wine that is not over complex, but just drinks really well.

Mercy, is this good. Restrained oyster shell and butterscotch nose. On the palate, there is oil, flint, tart yellow apple, and minerally brine. Is this cru Puligny or is this Chablis? Shockingly good juice. Bottle #4 from a six pack -- this is only getting better with bottle age.

Tasted this in a 5 Pinot line up and it won the day. Canada one was a runner up which surprised. This wine was classic Pinot Noir. Not super high end but smooth and elegant. Typical gunmetal/forest floor nose and strawberry and cherry on the palate. Decent minerality. Wine was light in alcohol soft acidity with a real harmony in the balance. As someone said, great spring party afternoon wine.

Let's be realistic, this ain't Montrachet. What it is though, it's good, honest and satisfying white burgundy. Pair that with a little age and good storage and you've got a winner. It's full bodied, with a green note that reminds me of sparragus but creamy in texture. Tertiary aromas are starting to develop and the fruit is a bit muted but it's still present. Finish is short.

Very nice - I'm not a huge Volnay expert (and have not had much 06 Burgundy of late) but it was more open and easier to drink than I expected - over time the wine developed, fleshing out significantly and become something much more to be admired.

Nice producer and good value.

I should have bought a lot more of these. What a great wine. Delicate, floral, red berries, some nice mineral undertones, with a very long smooth finish. I'll dream of this wine tonight. Delightful.

Jean/Michel Gros Vosne-Romanee 1er Clos des Reas Dinner (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): I liked this wine while also finding it slightly eccentric. Great floral start with toasted brioche, ripe apple and sweet spice. Long of acidity but also some faint hints of residual sugar form an odd combination that I like in a curious way.
