This showed ripe fruit right out of the bottle, but was better with 20 minutes of air. In a great spot, and really works for me - although at least one person found it to be a little too "ripe" for them. A-

Not ready. Cleary showing hints of incredibly concentrated dark cherry/boysenberry in center palate, a wonderful occasional waft of black cherry, smoke, wet earth and fruit acid on the nose. After a decant for an hour then a short second decant, the wine emerged in parts but still evolving slowly from sleep. Despite the 2015 start date predicted by the reviewers, I would hold for 3-5 more years.

Tuesday Night Double Blind $60+ (Bin 75): Dark dull crimson rim; funk, green, many called this canned asparagus, nice balance, deep tart red fruit; good density, full mid palate, firm tannin, sour red fruit, violets, a plushness to the tannin almost reminded me of N. Rhone; very good; pop and pour, should have let aerate longer to see if green subsided at all.

Pretty good. I would never pick it as a Pinot in a blind tasting. It has almost none of those characteristics. It's somewhat sour, rather tart, and thus the fruit is most akin to cranberry. It is firm and decidedly old school. It can be quite floral on the nose.

Lovely forest floor, mushroom stock, notes of game, with just a wisp of fruit hanging around. Good acidity, nice minerality. This is a very good LSG. Lovely bottle.

A lightly darker, but not oxidized or oxidative, profile is a giveaway this is not chardonnay. Orchard fruits with a nice spine of acidity. Good wine, but the somewhat short finish is a giveaway for it's village status. Better with food.

Red and black cherry with some roasted meat aromas and braised meat spice. Slightly backward right now, I'd expect this will better in another year or three.

Probably heading to a shut-down phase, but not fully there, yet. Smoky, spicy nose with red berries. The mouth is medium-weight with a silky texture and smoky red berries. Tannins are round and the acidity is moderate but correct. It appears to be a wine to put away for 3-4 years and then drink for the next 10-12 after that.

Immediately expressive and engaging as soon as the cork is pulled. The nose is full of damp Autumnal leaves, truffles, smoked meats and soot. It is full, meaty and muscular in the mouth with all sorts of savoury flavours. It lacks a little mid-palate flesh but is an ethereal wine that holds your attention right through the bottle. The finish has a touch of fruit rind bitterness that ensures a fresh clean finale.

This is actually rather exciting. Smoky and mature tasting, then this fresh streak of green, then some raspberry red fruit, and it all combines together beautifully

decent and at first i thought i would buy a six pack based on nice fruit and decent acid, basic $50 burg for mid week consumption, unfortunately it didn't improve on night two but rather became mostly water, oak and alcohol... interesting but not for repurchase

Another excellent showing. Beautiful clear ruby red color. The nose is a little rustic but full of bright red fruit as well. This is showing *really* young and drinking like its just been released. It has just a little bit of heat but it not at all flabby.

A bit out of balance.
Slightly too sweet with some floral elements and tannins not entirely resolved at this point, with some rusticity which does not match the fruit.
Blind I would guess a regular medium aged village wine.

At opening it is all geranium and green matter, with a very harsh finish. No point to drink, and should go in the sink at this point.
Next day the green part on the nose disappear, giving more compost and earthy nose, but not much on the palate.

Wow, nice to be surprised by a friend bringing this to a tasting night, after I had liked it a lot during a brief encounter in 2012. It has come together really nicely, and would wipe the floor with loads of other producer's 1er cru bottlings. Broad, ripe, sappy and spicy. Very expressive.

I tried this on release, thought it was terrific and bought a case. Glad I did as it is absolutely humming now. On the nose you get some smoked meats, iron and cherry fruit. It is plush and velvety with great depth and complexity for its level. The finish has good minerally detail.

Initially muted nose. Cherry and raspberry with a hint of herb. Medium tannins, medium light weight. Bright cherry palate with tons of structure.. Hold on these.. need time.
