When I poured it out it there was not just sediments but a load of "sludge" at the bottom of the bottle. Wierd and sad. |

3/21/2024 - ylkim30 Likes this wine: NRBeautiful floral and red cherry aromas on the nose. On the palate, I get vibrant dark red fruit, partially plumped up by a glossy sheen (which I'm guessing is from the barrique). However, the oak is not over the top, the acidity is excellent, and their is real tension in the structure of the wine. The tannins are surprisingly approachable right now, just giving a hint of pleasing grip on the finish. Really delicious, even if a touch polished and modern. |

4/19/2024 - MarcPal wrote: 93 pointsGreat stuff but incredibly tannic at this early stage. Decanted approximately 2 hours. Deep ruby colour, enticing nose of dark fruit, red fruit, spices, black tea, herbs, with similar flavours on the palate. This will need at least another 5-10 years in the bottle to shed some of those tannins and show its full potential. (93-94) |

Tossed down the sink unfortunately after 2 hrs of decanting, gotta love auction buys... Hoping bottle variation but I suspect poor cellaring as the cork looked fine. |

4/7/2024 - drmarclevine Likes this wine: 93 pointsDisjointed at first but opened beautifully after about an hour in the decanter. Aromas of dusty cherry, cough drop, melted licorice, and savory herbs. Complex and engaging. Black cherry with subtle Christmas spices and menthol on the palette. Grippy and persistent with a medium/long, mouth-cleaning finish. Can't imagine this improving but it's in a great spot and will hold here for a while. Very fine. |

4/5/2024 - 831900_ Likes this wine: 94 pointsIntense light red fruit on the nose with some rose-oriented floral aromatics. Light and gentle in the mouth, it also has a tension between lactic and malic. A lot of mineral but not exactly saline. A long, clean strawberry finish. Tannic today, likely even more lovely down the road. |

3/30/2024 - chanukha Likes this wine: 92 pointsGuess it's about 10 years old. Boy is there a long way to go for this wine. Stuff's there. Fruit, tannin, acidity with a hint of sweetness. Didn't decant and rank straight from the bottle. If I had another bottle, would not approach for another 4-5 years. This wine has a lot of potential but who can wait 15 years. |

Bottle opened for 3 hours prior to tasting and tasted with cheese, bread and charcuterie. Color ruby red. Darker red fruit nose and mouth. Of the younger Barolos poured that night, this was my favorite. Brad - heavypourwine.com |

3/9/2024 - R J Lewis wrote: NRVery pale colour, a bit more vibrant than the Via Nuova 2008. Light, delicate aroma - fine red cherry with dried flower, leaf. Shows some sweet spice too, perhaps from barrique. Smells less mature than Via Nuova 08 tasted at same time. Fresh palate - fine fruit still with some primary notes, alongside savoury. Super elegant, refined tannin. Could age for longer. In a nice balanced place. Very subtle and fine. |

Gorgeous, enveloping palate. Resolved tannins, still with grip. Fresh, elegant with a driving concentration. Super savoury finish. Wonderful mature, elegant Barolo. |

2/2/2024 - Andrew S-L Likes this wine: 92 pointsIt’s a lovely wine, with a beautiful, immediate nose that gave the impression that the wine is more mature than it is. Inky and dark in decanter, with slight signs of copper once in the glass a little later. PAPIES review is right about cherries, which dominate. There is - relatively speaking - a slight sweetness on entry before a drying finish where the tannins make their presence felt. Cherries aside it almost reminded me of a plush Bordeaux in terms of its evolution, probably due to the slightly drying finish that suggests there is more to come with time. Having said that, I suspect the darkness and heft, which places it at the opposite end of the bookshelf to a lifted, ethereal Barolo, means it will never be ultra complex but it’s very good regardless. (Note that, as it says on the label, this is unfiltered, so there is considerable sediment and what look like remnants of grape skin in the bottle. Accordingly this is best decanted through muslin). |
