OK for a Bourgogne, but a bit high in acid, and no outstanding fruit, bouquet, or complexity. May open a bit tomorrow.

Very nice, dark strawberry colour, very clear, lightening up the glass. Great. Nose: very dry with some fresh, bit tart strawberries, red currants; later some forrest accents - moss. Taste: nice medium-low acidity, some unripe strawberries, again red currants, medium finish; well done but nothing exciting.

A disappointment. The back label states that this is a "full-bodied" wine aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. Yeah, right.... This Pinot is neither full-bodied nor is there much evidence for oak aging — unless the barrels are so old that their impartible flavors are all used up. And yet there is no hint of even old oak, which can impart any number of complex flavors that can make or break a Pinot Noir — e.g., mushrooms, strawberry jam and barnyard. (Yes, even old barrels can give some character unless they are totally lined with tartrates.)

Like any wine lover who has a curious, discerning palate coupled with a self-imposed limited budget, this wine only demonstrates that mediocre Pinot Noir can be produced anywhere, be it in California, Oregon, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Italy, southern France or even (gasp!) Burgundy.

This is outstanding. The concentration and depth across the palate, from the initial attack to the finish is astounding. Very much a Grand Cru, and it's still just a baby. Although drinking very well now, it needed a solid 2 hours of air to start showing it's stuff. Cherries, pomegranate, some earth, and a 45+ second finish. Not cheap @ $105 but worth every cent for the experience. I know nothing about the '01 vintage, but it appears when put in the right hands (Marchand) good things tend to happen. I would give this another 5+ years to develop some of the mature secondary aromas/flavors. Still somewhat primary and I could see an additional point of upside if this matures into what I think it will.

Popped and poured, let it breathe for 15 minutes. Anise, cracked pepper, black cherry and a hint of floral notes on the nose. On the palate, elegant structure of black pepper, blackberry, black cherry with supple tannins and a nice level of acidity to stand up to the aged Gouda I paired with it. A long finish that started with the black fruits with a hint of violet showing up a little later.

Bright and vibrant in the glass. Its a powerful wine showing deep Red fruit characters. Savory mushroom and lovely berry. Balanced and particularly lengthy on the finish. Good drinking now.

Drank over three days and wine kept improving. I think it is in its awkward stage. Fairly dark red colour with just a hint of brick. Nose of stewed wild cherries and blue plums and a light note of wild flowers, lavender. The palate is shows more tannins than fruit on the first day and balanced by the third day, Good acidity. Decent finish. Very good for a village wine.

Garnet colour & clear. Displaying savory elements on the nose, cherry, barn yard straw, rich cherry palate intergarted tanins some lovely mocha evident on the palate, nice balance and reasonable length. Overall a lovely grand cru red burgundy. Drinking well bottle age may improve it but certainly a Food friendly wine now.

At first I really tot this is a CDP for the ripe roasted meaty and barnyardy notes. But with time, it started to display Earthy and woody notes with red cherry, quite dusty, and mineral with spices. Not bad at all. Very good balance of it's ripe fruits with acid for a light and fresh mouth feel with short to med finish, more earthy bitterness notes.

Lot's of mineral and rose petals on the nose. Slight earth and raspberry tones. Very well preserved, but this is at it's peak, no reason to hold. Palate was focused with more mineral and berry. Clean finish. A good solid bottle, but not great.

Dark red color, bouquet of raspberries, at first nice flavors of red fruit and blackberries, but fruit quickly faded behind persistent tannins, with some tobacco on the finish. After breathing, softened and became more balanced to a degree. Well structured, but not ageing as well as hoped.

Nice garnet colour. Forest floor and earthy nose at first. A little backward, Tannins haven't developed fully yet, but quite tasty all the same. Notes of truffles and black cherry.
