Round and rich. I agree with the others' sentiment; more, crisp acidity would flatter it well.

While good on the nose, and pretty in the glass,
this btl lacked mid-palete depth, and the finish med -.
I don't see holding this will help it gain weight.
Certainty not as good as my last btl.
Paired with grilled/roasted pork loin.

Outstanding Blend. This was my second bottle and it keeps getting better. Paired with BBQ and it went perfectly. Good balance and finish. The Syrah and Merlot were perfect together. Wish I had bought more

A beautiful Sonoma Syrah (reminds me of Limerick Lane) with an enticing spicy aroma on the second day and a purple/red color out to the rim. Will last for another 3-4 years. A complex powerful nose of bright dark red fruit, cherries and blackberries. Soft, full mouthfeel, well integrated tannins, a tart acidity, powerful, notes of dark fruit and, at the moment, only a hint of meat and smoke. An extended, balanced finish with a touch of bitterness at the very end. Patience in the cellar will pay off.

Upon opening, a big spicy nose and noticeable oak on the palate. With some time the aromas evolve to bring out menthol and tea. I rather like the aromas. After about 30 minutes I got more fruity hints, cherry, meat. The palate doesn't evolve enough, though. A bit muddy, medium-plus tannins, spice, long finish. Perhaps not as much bogged down by oak as drained of fruit, its harsher elements taking over. There’s ample heat on the finish, too. Not a bad wine but one that plays against type and that's an unwelcome trait when it's the distinct flavor of Grencahe we seek. File under generic Cali red.

okay wine. When first opened, pretty thin. It got better after the 3 hour decant. Not a stunning wine, but not bad for $25. Based on CT, which I find more critical than main line reviewers, I expected more. The body definitely developed after the decant. I am not sure aging will improve this wine, but I have 3 more bottles. We will see.

Delicious but young and undeveloped. Lots of tannins, mostly they are integrated. The acids are a little rough still. But this bodes well, because the fruit and smoky meat are not going to fade very fast. There's plenty to like in the aromas of meat, berries and violets. This is progressing, but slowly. As far as hitting its stride, I'd put the drinking window at 2017+. Need patience, but the payoff will probably be large.

Very informal notes, but this did not seem to have changed at all in the past year. Black olive, raw meat and a distinct cool climate profile. I didn't finish the bottle and saved around half for consumption 2 days later. Wow, what a difference! The wine has really smoothed out and become much more graceful, but loaded with ripe black raspberry, dusty earth and leather. Very, very good, I wish I had more.

P&P. This is a fairly simple wine, reflecting the poop growing season of 2011. Light body, with some astringency and thin black fruit flavors. May need more time...

Definitely a full bodied grenache. A one hour decant through the vinturi helped. I doubt it will age more. Very varietal with red fruit. Lingering after taste.

A big mouthful of rich white wine. I agree with the stone fruit flavors, along with honey and an almost Sauterne like finish. I think a little more acid would balance the whole package out. 6 more bottles to figure this out.

Aromas of honeysuckle, white flowers and papaya. The flavors match but add a white pepper note. Smooth, well-rounded body. I prefer a bit more acidity but this is tasty as is.

Quite round with nice mouthfeel. A bit of honey and a little nuttiness on the palate. I would like to see a bit more palate cleansing acidity on the finish, however it still finishes clean.

A hint of plastic on the nose is a bit off putting, but the fruit is good with a nice depth and pepper notes, and has mellowed sine I last tasted it.

Delicious wine that combined a streak of earthiness with a nicely concentrated core of red fruit. Great balance and it's easy to see that time does very good things to Jim's wines.

This has really improved and blossomed over time in bottle -- reminding of the promise to wait for some reds to age beautifully before uncorking. Savory with hints of inkiness, blueberry, plum, herbs. Oak is beginning to recede into the background, but not fully there yet. Dry, yet more velvety with fine grainy/gritty tannins, quite a bit of acidity, and a lingering finish.

Was expecting more from this one based on the scores. I think the lower alcohol on this one leads to the lack of depth that I was expecting. Ok for a mid week wine at a discounted price.

Tasting, brief note. Dense, chewy black fruit with good density. slight backward and oaky for right now, but this has good concentration and textures, so I like the potential here 2016 forward.
