Fairly green. Not appealing to me; didn't give full attention.

Decanted for 2.5 hours before service; while it was drinkable at that point, I think 6-8 hours would have been better. On the nose, initially some port-like reductive notes that quickly blew off to reveal a mix of crushed currants, damp forest, and a faint hint of smoky oak. On the palate, straight ahead Napa cab, with more currants, a bit of mid-palate sweetness, and some herbal/vegetal complexity waiting to show itself with more cellar time. The tannins are neither harsh nor dominant, but they're there, and I think another 5+ years will yield significant upside.

Brilliant, deep red colored. Muted, shy nose of cocoa, black currant, and smoking cedar. Glossy polished texture and palate. Rich raspberries and cream. Laser-like tannins. Finish of warm cedar. This is somewhat closed and very young, especially for Joseph Phelps. It's seamless and very well made, and has a lot of life left.

Ultra sweet candied tropical and stone fruits with distinct cotton candy notes. Acid could be better. A total crowd pleaser. 89-90.

Rich fruit but supple wine with really good balance and long finish. Dark ruby and translucent wine. Sweet upon entry and picks up complexity through a long balanced finish. Cassis dominates with notes of pencil shavings and a little char with a touch of creaminess. Nose is fragrant and same notes. Held up well but did not improve over two days.

A nicely balanced Chardonnay. Much like Mary Ann was overshadowed by Ginger on the island, this wine sometimes gets overshadowed by the glamorous Pastorale. Sometimes you want the farm girl from Kansas.

Hint of forest floor, mushrooms and light oak nose. Lighter tannins 6/10.

Nice light acidity in the finish. Clearly fruity Napa cab. Less fruity than the Spottswoode and the caymus special selection.

Straight forward, very typical - but well balanced, the focus is still in the primary, dark fruit, there is an abundance of blackberry here, but the wine is not overdone, rather kept in line by more old world qualities, a distinct dryness in spite of the fruit and noticeable tannins. Great with rib eye.

From a 375. Deep orange color; similar to notes before with nice aromas of citrus orange fruit, pure and concentrated; palate has great balance of sweetness and acidity, fresh fruit, but has started to lose its persistence in the midpalate. Still a lovely drink, but I will finish my last half in the near future. 90

Purchased from Winebid & arrived in pristine condition. This is in a sweet spot right now, with plenty of time left. Still youthful in color, and with plenty of dark rich fruit, but all the secondary notes are what make this so good. Has a smokey, meaty, savory (even buttery) umami that makes the wine. Plus a dark coffee & cocoa hint that really compliments the fruit. An absolute steal for the price.

One + hour decant. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it was a St. Julien. Either a Leoville-Las Cases or perhaps a Ducru-Beaucaillou . Complex, really lovely nose of rich cherry, leather, spice, licorice and a bit of mint. Lush, seamless, balanced, soft, silky texture with terrific concentration, richness, ripeness and depth. The fruit has aged and is a bit less fresh and vibrant than a few years ago, but that does not make it any less satisfying. Lengthy, fruity, sweet finish. I would be drinking this sooner rather than later as I think the wine has definitely peaked. 94-95
