Napa Valley White Blend more

BYO - Erik: Lovely pear and starfruit flavors with a touch of vanilla but also laced with minerals and a solid acidity.
Surprisingly fresh and a real pleasure to drink.
Liked it a lot and probably the best white Rhone-blend I have tried from California.

Very well balanced, but very surprised by the strong black pepper on the palate.

Reva 06 vs Poker Face Dinner (Bistro Boheme): High level of oak influence and seems to lack a lot of acidity. It does develop more flavors with more air but it is really mostly about the oak the first 45 min and it was impossible to determine that it was actually a chardonnay due to the clear lack of acidity. It did develop more Chardonnay flavors with more air but it would benefit of some more aging or even more decanting.
Most likely tasted at the wrong time and it clearly needed a lot more air to get rid of some of the dense compact oak.

Reva 06 vs Poker Face Dinner (Bistro Boheme): Lovely and fresh black/blueberry with a touch of vanilla and oak. Has also developed nice flavors of olive tapenade and smoked meat..
A nicely well aged syrah that is a pleasure to drink.

Better than the lst bottle, this was medium golden yellow with a nice nose of toasty oak and butter cream and a touch of tropical fruit. Well made stylistically but a little lacking in complexity and crispness. A little flabby on the palate. Nutty finish.

My third auction bottle and last one unfortunately, bight, rich plum color in the glass, lots of bouquet with raspberry, red cherry, cigar box, forest floor, and hot, dusty earth, more of the same on the palate, better than the other two bottles on the palate by far, complex and elegant, medium/big, rich body, lots of raspberry on the long finish, great wine with St. Andre French cheese. The community has lots of this wine-time to enjoy it!!!

Drank at Blanco's for July 4 holiday. Medium gold color. Some floral & tropical fruit notes, along with honey and oak as is the norm with this wine. A big wine, with lots of fruit & still lots of oak, but a solid acidity level with a pleasant minerality. I think this wine will benefit from a few more years of bottle age.

While I'm not a fan of big, oaky Cali chards, this iteration is hard not to like. The penetrating green and stone fruit with overlayed floral and baking spice notes has stunning depth and complexity as well as a finish that goes on and on. This is really well done and drinking beautifully today.

Decanted for 2.5 hours. In the glass, starting to shift from dark red to maroon/auburn. On the nose, deep fruit with herbal and wood elements and port-like oxidized notes in the background. On the palate, the fruit and complexity is there, but so is the oxidized note and significant tannins on the mid-palate and the long finish. It's not clear to me that this will ever overcome the wall of tannins, but if it does, it will be something special.

I don't drink a ton of Syrah - but this is one of the best I have ever had. Tar, cherry, smoke, pepper, jerky, licorice... just a bunch going on. And oh so smoooooth. Was singing with a 3 hour decant.

Classic Napa cab nose and body. Cassis on the nose with a hint of oily petroleum.

On the palate a touch thinner than expected based on the nose. Tannins 6.5/10. Lighter than the nose portrays.

Enjoyable drinking

My first kongsgaard came with no disappointment. Everything that I was expecting was there in this young and wonderful wine. It really needs time to open and show juicy core of honeydew, apples and thin layers of tropical fruits. All this complemented by a crispy acidity and a very elegant and refreshing finish. Just a touch of oak at the end, a well done wine.

Needs an hour decant- medium bodied, still 3-5 years out from prime, will hold until 2025. Average balance at this point.

At 14.1% ABV, this monster wine pours a pale straw color with slight cloudiness and thick, unctuous legs. On the nose, the wine is very floral with an overarching scent of oak and honey, which is supported by a bouquet of citrus, tropical fruits, vanilla, lychee and vanilla. This is a very delicate and exquisite nose. On the palate, the wine has a medium structure accentuated by a mineral core and low acidity. The heat of the alcohol brings out flavors of honeysuckle, more tropical fruits, peaches and oak. Finish is superbly long. As the wine develops in the glass, I pick up more flavors of orange marmalade, orange blossoms and lemon oil. This viognier/roussanne blend is insanely beautiful. And once again, Kongsgaard never lets down.

Deep plum color in the glass, lots of bouquet with blackberry, red cherry, forest floor, hints of tar and dusty earth, more of the same on the palate, lots of tastes on the mid palate, almost mouth filling, better bottle than the previous auction bottle, medium/big body, long, long, long finish. great wine with goat cheese watching the Warriors win tonight!!
