In the mouth you can feel that it is not a Barolo. Lacks a bit of power and body, but that's not a flaw. Good acidity and persistence. Tannins present and well integrated at the very fine size. Nice work . |

Aged for 12 mos. in a mix of casks & barriques, w/ 18 more mos. in the bottle before release. The palate is dry, consistent w/ the nose, w/ a very balanced structure of med (+) to high acidity, tannins & alcohol (14%). Very elegant, w/ med (+) body, flavor intensity and length. It is drinking really nicely, w/ some potential for additional complexity w/ further aging. Really nice. |

From my understanding they dry a portion of the grapes before vilification and by the intensity of the wine it shows. Color was a deep golden borderline dessert wine looking almost like Sauternes or Tokaij. The nose was explosive with intense tropical fruit and pretty red fruit characteristics that almost reminded me of a red Starburst which I'm guessing is coming from the Nebbiolo. It was balanced by nice acidity and a sweet petrol and limestone minerality. |
