Blah. Like a .240 hitter, you're not going out of your way to watch his batting practice. Nothing distinct, moderate across the board. Leaves me wishing for something to take a stance -- acid, minerals, fruit, whatever.

Clear, medium- golden color. Intense, fully developed nose, lots of aromas from spontaneous fermentation, green fruits, herbs.
Dry, at first a bit flat but the longer it stays on the palate it shows its real beauty with lots of pressure and a long finish. Quite untypical elegant and lean for the 2009 vintage. Will stay at this level for years and still might develop a bit.

Bright acidity, med body, citrussy, reads very young on the palate. Nice, but needs time to knit together.

golden colour, intense peach scents with minerals and some citrus. Very good concentration and poise. This is untypical riesling because of the malolactic fermentation, but it is one of the best dry rieslings and better than much burgundy chardonnays with fourfold prices (minimum). If further cellaring provides more elegance and complexity, a nearly perfect score is not impossible. 96 points from TWA.

Great nose of white/yellow stone fruit. Palate was slightly disappointing in comparison. Very good for €10.

Consistent with last time. Perfect Riesling Kabinett Restsüss. Way better than the Willi Schäfer Riesling Kabinett. And for 12 € this is a bargain.

This one caught me off guard. The color of Coca Cola, pours like heated maple syrup. Figs, dates, raisins. Where were the pears or apples? Could use more acid. Perhaps this is a bit over the hill. Tonight seeming much more like a LV Australia Muscat or old Spanish PX than a German Riesling. The conclusion was this would be great over vanilla ice cream. Not one to re-buy. Drink up (or eat).

I loved it. Easy to drink without food, but not to sweet. So it can also be enjoyed with food. For 12 € this is a no-brainer.

According to Gault Millau 2016 Kühn is the winemaker of the year. Congratulations!

Intro Somm Day 1 - Paso (Paso Robles): Clear, day-bright.
Medium concentration yellow, reflections of gold.
No gas or sediment.
Medium tears.

Nose:
Clean, Elevated intensity nose, youthful in nature.
Terpenes - fresh white flowers, ripe peach and melon. Ripe citrus - lime.
Slightly reductive. The aroma is a bit depressed. A bit of pool toy/petrol, possibly TDN. Possible slight botrytis.

Dry, maybe 2-3g/L RS.
Medium minus body,
Diminished alcohol - 11%
High acidity - malic and tartaric.
no phenolic bitterness.

Old-world - slate driven.

Albarino - Acid is too high.
Riesling -
Gruner Veltliner - No phenolic bitterness, no vegetal character.

This is Awesome:
German Riesling, Trocken.
Australian Riesling - not throwing off as much petrol as I'd expect.
Alsace Riesling - not enough alcohol, I'd expect more dirtiness - maybe more botrytis.

Mosel, Riesling, 2014. Good quality - I like this a lot!

Actually:
11.5% alcohol, Peter Jacob Kuhn
Riesling Trocken, Rheingau 2014.
No oak, but large Foudres or "Stuck".

After having the 2011 vintage of that one (which I really liked) the 2014 vintage did not convinced me fully. The nice sappiness with the dry background I was impressed from the 2011, I missed it with the 2014.

Basically a good wine for everday drinking, but the 2011 vintage I liked more.

Amphorae wines: Nose of varnish, pharmacy, something chemical and lime. Solid. It is lively and fruity, Turbo chewing gum, concentrated cold fruitiness on the palate. Unique nose, there's so much going on - flowers, zephyr, peach, very concentrated, huge potential. Excellent accidic backbone and good balance. What an experience! Due to its profile, not as food friendly, savour it on its own.

Dinner at Mistral (Princeton) with Bala, Jen, Sue and Tash (Princeton, NJ): A tasty wine. Lovely notes of pear, apple, acidity, minerality. Best with the oysters and with the rabbit and the burratta. Very dry wine - perhaps too dry for Sue and JRex. But I loved it.
We got this on close-out at State Line Liquor (in MD) and it was the only bottle they had. Delicious now but could definitely age some more, too.

A beautifully-made wine: low-yielding 60 - 80 year old vines, biodynamic viticulture, 30% of the juice fermented on the skins for six weeks, twelve months in 600 litre "Halbstück" barrels, bottled unfiltered in September 2008 under screwcap (convenient for restaurant drinking)

Rich colour, lively appearence; complex and deep nose, spices and earth, honey and grapefruit, lime and herbs; the palate is rich and ripe, with real old-vine creaminess, mineral energy and tension, ripe but lively acidity, relatively light flavours, bitters from the skin maceration have been resolved; good length (only). One bottle left; I will not keep it too long. On the second day, it has become quite oxidative, on the nose in particular. Definitely not a long-haul wine.

Textbook. Smells like correct dry riesling, has the right balance of acid and fruit, crisp, savory. No piece of this wine is extraordinary but it's what the muscadets aspire to be, but fail at.

Quite exotic fruit notes, even hints of banana. Sweet and quite ripe, smooth and balanced, expressive. Lacks a bit of complexity, especially when tasted just after Keller's Nierstein Kabinetts, but very good. 89-90+

My first wine from Kühn. In the nose typically Rheingau from Oestrich / Hallgarten.
On the palate fresh with crystal-clear acidity in balance with yellow fruits. Overall dry but with a nice sappiness which absorbs the dry effect very interestingly!
Pretty well stuff!
