(Noticeably less oaky that then 2010 Fontalloro tasted next to it.) The wine's weight imparts an impression of viscosity. Not excessively polished. Intriguing, balanced, and in some way reminiscent of the 2010 Pontet Canet. One of the more approachable vintages of Oreno at a young age, but it is no whimp, packing a serious tannic wallop that begins at the middle and lingers through a complex finish. It should evolve over the next eight to ten years. It held its own next to a 2012 Ornellaia. |

Seems to be getting in its prime, although the color is a deep cherry red and its a rather thick wine to pour with still mostly primary and secondary aroma's. Seems to gain weight over time, at first had a medium bodied mouthfeel, later turned to full bodied. I started out a 91, butIt becomes more interesting as time progresses. Its my last 2005, but I'll be more carefull with my '09's, because its clear the 05 had much much more life ahead of it. Great experience nonetheless ! |

Well rounded, international style which maybe not distinctive but with enough layers to keep it interesting. Hard not to like it though this is not fruit forward wine.To me, this is a bargain given a fair price and and I would be happy to enjoy it any day. It compete with many lower tear Bordeaux wines but kind of gives away it's Italian origins. Don't over think, just enjoy. |

The fruit is fading and the acidity is negligible. It was fine with a roast pork tenderloin and mushroom risotto. Definitely opening our last bottle very soon. |
