11/17/2022 - JonBarnes1 Likes this wine: NRA seamless blend. To me this smooth a texture for a Priorat style blend is a hallmark of the small amounts of Merlot and Cabernet in there. Ever so slight whiff of sulphur. Minimal oak used, undetectable. Some dark spiced expressed through the fruit. Fresh and relatively light bodied. Tannins a little rough. Healthy acidity. Great value. Won’t buy more today, but was looking forward to trying this and glad I did. Will do the same for future vintages. |

Surrounding Priorot, the higher altitude Montsant DO was created in 2001, its name taken from the Montsant massif ('holy mountain') that dominates the region's landscape. Here, Romans first planted. The soil is a local specialty known as 'llicorella', which is high in granite and slate components. Blend of Macabeo (or Viura in Rioja), Garnacha Blanca, and Cartoixà (Xarel-lo). Perfect Yummy balance of musky, floral, and herbal notes. Waterfall acidity. 30+ second finish. Reminds me of a rubber shoe sole in the best way. Excellent w/food. Chaîne explorable. I anticipate it can age 5+ years |

Wish it had a bigger nose but I detect Cherry, strawberry, dried herbs, and roasted meat. Palate is smooth and medium balanced. Fruity red berries and a hint of spice. Easy to drink! Good value |
