Light gold color. Drank 2+ glasses with dinner over an hour. As always a wonderful Champagne. Balanced all around and finessed. Very fine bead, pear, apple, yeast and mineral nose. The palate is delicate, light and lifted, fine acidity buoys the vibrant citrus infused pear, apple, and apple skin flavors, along with almond cream, yeast, and a long finish. So nice. 92+pts.

This was quite herbal on the nose and for a brief moment I thought it might have been subtly corked but the musty basement and dust aromas blew off revealing lemon, salty oyster and chalk.
Vilmart blows malo-lactic fermentation for tho cuvee and it shows...there is tonnes of malic acid....green apple, ginger, chalk, minerals, lime zest and a bit of a musty transition to the finish.
Finish is medium and a touch simple.
This is a bit of a disappointment as I have loved Vilmart in other vintage...the 2001 blew my mind.

Opened yesterday, consumed half the bottle, and saved the rest for today.
Disgorged 12/2011...so 4 years of additional bottle age. 9 g/L dosage. Malo blocked in this cute.
Remember, this wine is aged in oak, and this definitely impacts the flavor profile.
Today, the wine is better after having been opened a day and re-corked.
Fine, constant stream of bubbles.
Nose is lively, with cinnamon, red apple, lemon/lime, creamsicle, and chalk.
The palate is full in body, with quite lively acidity, and relatively bold flavors of red apple skin, cooking spices, pear and lemon, vanilla, and honey. Even through all these abundant flavors, the soil signature is apparent (way more so on the 2nd day than the first). The wine shows it's pedigree and lives up to it's expectation, finishing long and full, with a definite acid cut at the end of the lingering finish, earning points for style and grace.
A real beauty, drinking utterly refined and perfect on the 2nd day the bottle was opened...making me think this disgorgement may continue to improve with another year in the bottle, and drink at it's apogee through 2020+. Delicious.

LBTG - with Alan hosting: salty nose, rich ripe citrus in the mid. leaning almost tropical on the palate - with a hint of sweetness toward the finish. pears up front lead toward pink grapefruit and a nice long finish. definitely the richer style.

Light gold, very fine mousse. On the nose, quince paste, notes of amontillado (but no nutty notes, that indicate oxidation or wine fault), brioche, butterscotch. I wouldn't have guessed it was fermented and aged in oak as it's so well integrated. Medium plus to high acidity and very long finish with notes of mineral. The cork is still sound, but I wouldn't age it much longer.

Disgorged in 2012 I think, based on purchase date. Lovely nose; brioche, citrus, green apple. Fine mousse, with leaner lemon and green apple fruit followed by a backbone of excellent acidity. Fresh, clean, and lively.

I'm not a connoisseur but this was quite an impressive bottle. More than light - utterly weightless. Beautiful lemon-lime, granite and quince flavors, very long clean finish. Happy I splurged on 6 bottles of this.

This wine always pleases, but then again who doesn't like pink bubbles? It's lightly fruity, dry, pairs well with food but can also be drunk on its own. Sorry that we are down to our last few - may need to seek out some more. Enjoyable.

Vilmart lyckas igen. Vilken fantastisk trio 2008-2009-2010 är. Behövde lite luft för att öppna sig men sedan kände man igen Vilmarts underbara stil. När det här släpps kommer jag att köpa och lägga undan ett par lådor i källaren.

Directly disgorged by Laurent. Very fresh, dried apricot, ripe yellow peaches, vanilla, brioche, honey, very balanced and complex, very long clean finish, I think this wine starts to reach his drink optimum, I would love to drink it again in 5 and 10 years, but in Laurent's cellar are only 34 bottles left, 95-96

6 years on the lees, very creamy and elegant, some vanilla, brioche, very winey, but the champagne aspeczs dominate, briallantly balanced, again a masterpiece of laurent champs, 94-95, will live at least 10 years

This champagne always seems to deliver and at the price point is probably one of my favorites. Nice and light and bubbles are fine enough with a touch of a strawberry undertone. Easy to drink and a nice start to the meal.

Dinner at Alinea (Alinea, Chicago): Medium-light gold color. Ample mousse with pert effervescence throughout. This had a somewhat mute nose, with a faint aroma of toasted brioche. The palate was more full-bodied, with flavors of ripe stone fruit and crushed mint, all kept fresh by tingly bubbles and solid acidity. This has enough structure to age for another 10-15 years. Paired with surf clam soup, roasted sunchoke, mini cucumber sandwich and lilac salad.
