Second best Aussie Shiraz I have ever had. Got this at auction but have seen it in a couple wine store I have seen in the SE US so this one is now on my try to by list. Good big body, nice balance, fruit is still fresh and the alcohol is unseen. It has a full mouth and adequate acid, and then it grows a bit and finishes nice but not spectacularly with a subtle, full, smooth, fruit finish. Doubt I can find the '04 again but will surely buy newer vintages for a reasonable price ($30ish or under)

Popped and poured. Nose of blackberry, black plum, mocha, spice and licorice. A black and red fruit core with notes of mocha, underbrush and vanilla on the palate. Leads to a medium to long finish. Full bodied with a rich texture. A good QPR.

Fruit everywhere, but that was expected given the appellation and alcohol content. True to expectations - 90 it is.

Drank a bottle today with my spouse at Kaiware Japanese Restaurant. Paired with Kagoshima Wagyu Steak and Beef Teriyaki.

Full bodied with notes of raspberries, cherries and strawberries. Nicely integrated with a sweet and smooth finish.

This wine, from famed wine maker Chris Ringland, is shining today. It doesn't only represent good value for money; it is the perfect example of excellent quality-price-ratio.

Opened a bottle in the office yesterday to celebrate a colleague's birthday.

Ripe red fruits with characteristics of raspberries and cherries.

Unlike the fruit bombs from Australia, this wine is more balanced and subtle. Should appeal to both new and mature drinkers alike.

Pairs well with a wide range of food. Delicious on its own.

Drank this at my best friend from the University days place yesterday afternoon.

Wine has a firm structure with hints of pepper and spice and ripe red fruits. Very balanced and delicious.

Clear, medium+ ruby appearance. Nose is clean with medium intensity and notes of floral, vanilla, black fruit and licorice. Palate is dry with medium acidity, medium+ tannins and medium+ body. Black fruit, vanilla and pepper. Medium+ finish.

Very good wine and varietally correct for a Barossa Shiraz.

Popped and poured. Black plum, blackberry, vanilla and dried herbs on the nose and palate. Leads to a long finish. Full bodied with a jammy, dense texture. Pure Barossa Shiraz. Highly extracted, monstrous and well balanced. A well made wine and very good QPR. Paired with macoroni, cheese and broccoli.

Dark red colour; less fruit forward than I have expected. Packed some warmth from the high alcohol content but it was not harsh, no alcohol burn from this. Plummy, not too peppery. Tannins are soft. Should pair well with a nice thick juicy steak.

Wow! This has really blossomed since our last bottle two years ago. Then it was complex but a little overpowering, almost as big as a Vintage Port. It is still a big wine now but even more complex and it has mellowed considerably. Great nose of black fruit, cedar and a wonderful spice melange. Same on the palate with a rich peppery finish. Definitely worth the wait.

{screwcap, 15.4} Sweet jammy fruits. The bottle wears a US importer’s label, and the contents confirm every prejudice about the great unwashed wine drinkers of that nation. So, sweet red fruit, little tannin, low acid, short finish. An OK quaffer; doesn’t finish obviously sweet, avoids too much heat remarkably, but something to drink in a hurry, that’s for sure.

russocaster put it well; a lot of character for an unpretentious wine. Cool serving temperature is important to conceal the alcohol in this one. Dark purple, nose of blue fruit, brown sugar. On the palate, dark fruits and peppery finish. not bad for <$15

Glad I hung on to these for a long time before trying the first bottle. It was pure beauty after 15 minutes in the glass. The deep ripe fruit was just as fresh as the day it was picked. Everyone enjoyed this wine a lot. Glad I have three more bottles

Unpretentious but with a lot of character. Spicy rich, with red fruit goodness. Better after 20 minutes. Pairs very well with grilled meat, burgers.

Impenetrably dark garnet. Incredibly rich but with noticeable heat and a touch of dusty tannins. Carries the alcohol well. Good to drink now and seems like for a while to come. Hard to imagine a complementary food pairing, however.

Whilst still holding well (due to its screw cap?) this is one huge extracted confabulation of spicy black raspberries, blueberries along with a little black cherry jam and black liquorice. Can't say it's integrated all that well over the years, yet it still smells good, has a big plush mid palate with enough acidity to carry on to a finish. Not the 96 pointer Parker wrote up some time ago, it still gives some gussied up pleasure with a little after burn from the 16.5 alcohol.

Drank this wine at a wine tasting session at Extra Space, Boon Keng today.

Well structured with very nice legs. Some dragon fruit and iodine notes on the nose and palate. A bit of breathing would improve the wine. Good energy in the body with length in the finish.

Overall, considering the price, this wine is overwhelming and sensational.
