The wine looks rosy colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), grapefruit, raisin, plum, pomegranate, stoniness, mineral, oak and clove. It tastes like blackberry, black currant (cassis), fig, cherry, oak, clove and stoniness. The body is light. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Lemon spritz, lemongrass, kumquat, honeysuckle, and ripe gooseberry on the bouquet. Rich and vibrant palate, fat, very good acid, supports a pleasant mineral element. Solid finish. 89-90.

A Mostly French Wednesday Afternooner (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light gold color. PNP, drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. Very fruity, fresh, honey, apple, peach, quite sweet on the palate, with fair acids, some spice, but a bit cloying over time. Doesn't have the depth or texture though.

Drank with drunken noodles. This is really dry with no hint of residue sugar present. As a result probably not as good a match with Thai food as the regular bottling.
Having said that it was interesting in a good way. Very citrusy with lime and some grapefruit. Acidity was bracing but not puckering. Had the left over the next night on its own and it was refreshing.
I think this will be very nice way to start a warm summer evening.

Nose was big with a floral scent.
A little tannic at the outset with strawberry and other red fruit. After leaving for about 4 hours it really began to shine. Lovely red fruit flavors encased in a soft silky background. Balanced with just enough acidity to compliment food. In a word elegant.
This wine still needs a year or two or a good decant.

Still good, but drink now. Dark fruit, slightly bitter cherry, dark chocolate. Super dark color.

Big nose predominately of lemon.
On the palate big upfront hit of filling of lemon meringue pie. Neither sweet or sour but rich, silky lemon. There is a little tartness in the middle before a moderate length finish of subtle green apple.
Riesling is always my favorite choice with Thai food and this didn't disappoint.

Bright flavor of trending to raspberry up front, followed by rounded flavors including a bit of tobacco, and tiny bit of spice, though not peppery. Very rounded mouth feel. Wine should continue to evolve, but drinking really well right now.

PnP. As before, nose and palate of cherries, strawberries & a touch of dust. Improved over the next hour. Poured half into a 375 ml and had the next night. Not as good.

A dry Riesling, not too sweet, good balance. Somewhat like a sauv blanc but smoother and slightly sweeter. Great for a summer wine. I had with grilled chicken, not the best pairing. Would be excellent as a picnic wine in the park. I met the wine maker at Fred Meyer, he was very nice. Look forward to going to the vineyard.

Chehalem Mountains AVA Tasting and After Party Wines (Sunfish Cellars, St. Paul, MN): Light medium reddish orange color. Tasting pour over 15 minutes. This had a more subtle nose, muted red fruits, dried spice, some deeper earth follows. The palate has more sweet fruit, strawberry, higher acid, light body, light tannins, sweet fruit with tartness on the end.

Light color, nose of cherry and raspberry of average intensity. Good and ample flavor of cherry with medium acidity and soft tannins. Proportionally balanced with a silky finish. Fair wine.

Opened this bottle to pair with classic shrimp cocktail with a slightly cajun, cocktail sauce and it worked great! Nice lemon citrus upon opening almost like actual lemonaide. Nice acidity and overall quite enjoyable.

Nose of dark fruit. Took about 1/2 hour or so but it opened up to be smooth & luxurious. Cherry and dark berries with a touch of acidity giving it a "pop". The tannins are noticeable in the touch of black tea.
Strongly suggest a short decant or open well before drinking.

2012 is the best vintage of the Nicholas estate I've tasted! And we just did a vertical of all of their estate wines from 2005-2012

We tasted this as very dry, not off-dry, with aromas of lime zest and kerosene, and a tart taste of lemon and green apple. Serve with a spicy, lemony shrimp scampi.

Worthless pinot. Insult that this came out of OR in what was otherwise a good vintage. I had a half case of this and only two bottles remaining which I will use to cook with going forward. Wine lacks any structure and absolutely no balance. Color looks like a mix of mud and wet paint. No tannis and flat fruit.

A fresh, bright, aromatic style Pinot. Asian spice, tobacco, red fruits. High acidity, light tannin. Struck me as old world in profile, in a clean, delineated style. Nice QPR, super varietal character at this price point.

Mostly American Wines; 7/2/2014-7/6/2014: Medium yellow color. On the nose, I get sea salt, lime, some grapefruit and green melon, bright dandelion and honeysuckle. Creamy palate, medium acid, I like the mix of white peach, apricot and lemon-lime fruit. A good amount of limestone and oyster shells. Bright and fresh but richly textured with balanced notes of toasted almonds and honeycomb. Minerals and sea shells linger on the long finish. Impressive in its freshness and depth.

Nose of tobacco, soil, lacking normal pinot fruit but still a nice experience. Very smooth and elegant body. Deep earthy flavors, tight and hard to distinguish between them. Overall just a very elegant nice drinking wine.

Surprised that this was quite good compared to what I had two years ago. The sour taste mellowed and it was quite balanced between fruit and acidity. Light to medium body. Mixed red fruits - strawberry and red raspberry flavors and a very smooth finish. Looks like some west coast Pinots need aging. 90+
