12/19/2023 - ACellarCat Likes this wine: 84 pointsDeep tawney looking wine with aromas of red cherry and toffee. No noticeable VA on opening. Straight-forward flavour of ripe red cherries. Rounded low-medium tannin, low-medium acidity and a medium finish with a pronounced toffee aftertaste. The alcohol (14%) was well integrated. |

4/14/2023 - Wine Diplomats Likes this wine: 92 points2570 bottles made; 50% Marsanne – 45% Roussanne – 5% Sauvignon Gris (although in the past, I think they used to use Viognier instead of Sauvignon Gris). The vineyard is located 12 km from the Pacific. The label says the Marsanne and Roussane were fermented in concrete while the Sauvignon Gris in new oak. You immediately get the oak on the nose and I think some malolactic. But not over the top. Spice. Dried herbal notes and salinity with some underlying ripe stone fruit. On the palate, the fruit dominates more with good freshness and some oak spice. Round. Medium-bodied. Comes off as more of high-quality new world Chardonnay as opposed to typically unoaked Sauvignon Blanc of Chile. |

8/21/2022 - terry j Likes this wine: 87 pointsI'm intrigued by Chilean carménères , which provide an old-world flavor profile somewhat in the direction of Burgundies. This one is good but not great. I'm typically intrigued by barnyard aromas, which I learned are caused by the 4-ep output of brettanomyces yeast. IOW, these wines have brett, which some people like in moderation and some people hate in any form. Barnyard is particularly prominent in this wine (or at least my bottle), and dominates the aroma. There's just a touch of floral aroma in the direction of violet. The palate is drying, leaving the impression of a much older wine. It makes for a wine not everyone would like. I'd be glad to drink it again, but rather than seek it out will probably continue my survey of Chilean carménères if the selection allows. |

8/6/2022 - TannicBeast Likes this wine: 90 pointsGreat QPR, a super summer rose. 85% Carmenere, 15% Syrah. Pale salmon, w/ med to med+ raspberry, strawberry, ripe lemon, ruby red grapefruit and wet stone. All stainless steel. Dry, w/ med+ to high acidity, med- tannins and med alcohol (13%). Med bodied, quaffable by itself or with a variety of appetizers, fish & white meats. It has none of the negatives sometimes associated with Carmenere. Med to med+ flavor intensity and length, w/ a pleasant ruby red grapefruit bitterness on the finish. This rose' over-delivers. Drink now, not intended for aging. |

Granite on the nose and the palate. I also get some light vanilla. This is just a super well balanced delicious Carmenere. |
