Great spice and vibrant red fruit. Nice depth, not too long of a finish and the alcohol was present but wonderful flavors.

brick red in color and divine in taste. This 11 year old Willamette Valley Pinot is a gem revealing blackberry, cherry, moss. It didn't take that much time to open.

I've tried other vintages of Beaux Freres and they were excellent. The 2009 Willamette Valley (Unfined and Unfiltered) was well-balanced, had a beautiful, silky texture, but was subtle to a fault: barely any bouquet, and muted pinot flavor that lacked intensity or complexity. I've noticed that not all but many Oregon pinots start fading after age 5, and that seems to be the case here. Perhaps I got a damaged/flawed bottle.

Slow ox'd for several hours. This was a beautiful wine. Pale red and very feminine. Cherry and some decaying floral notes. Really enjoyed this. Definition of finesse right now. Drink now and enjoy.

Way past prime. No fruit left. And perfectly stored…now in probably third stage of evolution, and for an American pinot it's just not what we buy pinot to experience.

Decant for an hour to burn off a little heat. Very nice Oregon Pinot. Burgundian in style. Nice nose, balance, and exceptionally long finish.

Pinot supper (Bitton Restaurant, Erskinville): Concentrated red cherry fruit, alcohol heat under a slightly musty note, autumn leaves, cedar and vanilla. In the mouth the wine is slightly sharp, juicy acidity, rich and quite dense and thick chalky tannins, there is some fruit here that is initially quite muted but with time (over the course of 3 hours) it starts to grow in presence and lends a certain fleshiness to the mouthfeel, pulling the acidity and tannins together. The alcohol heat is a little intrusive on the long finish. I think I like it.

Hmmm. Didn't take my own advise to wait on these. The last two bottles over this past year have been messy. I hope it isn;t the warm vintage falling apart. The 98's did a little bit of the same thing and are drinking beautifully now. Hope these come back too.

Decanted for filtering and for air approximately 1.5 hours. Re-bottled for transport. Wine left a lot of sediment in the decanter (note that it is unfined/unfiltered). It was dark in the restaurant but wine appeared to present as ruby with light rim. Rich scents of candied cherry and red fruit along with some light spice. Expressive red fruit flavors with hints of earth and spice. medium body, medium acid, medium+ finish with lingering fruit and floral notes. Will wait on the next one until 2017.

Motley crew of wines at Spoon Thai (Spoon Thai, Chicago): Found this just a bit big and ripe for my taste. Lots of bright black cherry and dark berried fruit at the core accented by some herbal and earthy notes, though not showing much in the way of development. The 14% alcohol is quite noticeable on the finish though, and I found this rather underwhelming.

Salil does Chicago; 4/16/2015-4/19/2015 (Chicago, IL): This had a very interesting dichotomy between stems (though I've long since concluded I have no idea what stems smell/taste like) and sweet black fruit. The palate is surprisingly dense, with lots of black fruit again, and to be honest, this is not showing anywhere near 17 years. A very rich and big pinot noir, but lovely just the same.

Took awhile for alcohol and heat to blow off. Ruby red, cherry, baking spices and a heavier frame than. Medium finish. Enjoyable but can't see it getting any better.
