3/17/2024 - The Drunken Cyclist Likes this wine: 89 pointsRetail $35. Very Heavy bottle (892g; 1lb 15.4oz). 100% Shiraz. I have only had a few sparkling reds over the years and they have all been a bit of a novelty. Not that they were not serious wines but there are not a ton of them so the reference points are limited. This is a dark, even very dark, magenta with plenty of blackberry and plum. The palate is dark, fruity, and both tart and a bit brooding, if that is possible? Again, not a ton of reference points here, but this is certainly a fun, pleasant quaff. I served it chilled and that seemed to work and would be great as an apéritif or with a charcuterie board. |

3/5/2024 - tenorselbow wrote: 90 pointsAired this out for a couple of hours and did improve quite a bit. Excellent pairing with lamb chops. Big nose of crushed dark berries, violets and pommel horse sweat. Generous mouth of mulberries, aniseed and tart crust. Medium length finish of charred matchsticks and good acid. |

2/27/2024 - Drinkers Digest Likes this wine: 92 pointsInky pastille fruits and olive tapenade, mulberry laced with a dash of menthol, and some complex, well-integrated woody savouriness flow along to a long, cool finish. Vibrant and retaining elements of primary fruit, I can see this still being attractive for another 5 years. |

2/18/2024 - Winefeld wrote: 89 pointsTwo hour slow-ox before dinner. Bright cranberry/choke cherry fruit profile with notes of white pepper, plum and violet. Acid-forward and tart, nicely complimenting roasted beef and root veg. Alone the wine was slightly thin and the acid outpaced the fruit. Abrupt finish. Has not improved since last bottle. Drink freely and preferably with food. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

The seconds half of the bottle was definitely better and it kept getting better and better with time in the glass. I would recommend a decant(possibly?) 1/6/2024 - MC2 Wines Likes this wine: NRWine Bros: A Study of Syrah (Cowford Chophouse): For many this was an introduction to the style. We had tried to get the Rockford but alas it seems to never make it to the US which is unfortunate. This wine is quite enjoyable though. Fruity and still fresh with the bubbles. Enjoyable wine. |

Ensuite, j'y retrouve un côté plus classique évoquant la syrah. Le vin est dense et droit, je croyais à un Hermitage. Belle complexité, dans un style assez moderne, qui devenait de plus en plus mentholé avec l'aération. 92 pts |
