this does pour a lovely salmon pink and while quite moreish, I'm not sure it is worth the price

Eyes Wide Shut - Day 2 (A quiet place): Nose: Light pink cherries, a bit of quiet tartness, decent freshness with a gentle sea breeze.

Palate: Ripe yet light note of blood oranges, clean watery minerals and light earth.

Something on the palate gave this a watered-down aspect, not sure what, maybe the minerals?

April BYO (Bodø, Norway): The base is 2013, and the wine is straw yellow. The nose is complex with malo, wax, and light notes of honey. With a bit of air comes burnt matches, melted plastic, and a tiny bit of liquorice. On the palate, the wine is experienced as somewhat sluggish. Oxidative notes, gunpowder, mineral salt, and something rocky. Not much fruit except for some lemon at the very end. The wine appears slim and acidic with a medium length.

Generous and densely styled, and delicious. Orchard fruit including pear and apricot, crème brûlée, almond and caramel apple. A mineral and metallic note. Billecart Salmon excelled in 2002.

A wine that screams of a perfect pedigree 2-yr old at the Kentucky Derby. Showy and brilliant now but with so much life and maturing performance still ahead of it. Lots of complexity from slightly sweet citrus and stone fruit to racy acidity and minerals to touches of hazelnut all rolling around the palate. I doubt leaving this wine alone for another decade would harm it in any way, and would likely make it even more exotic.

Better than previous tasting in 2022. Has put on a bit off weight since then. Still primarily strawberry on nose and palate. A touch of sweetness creeping in. Hints of lemon oil. Would be much better with more acidity and bubbles but very enjoyable with oysters.

Another Wine gathering at RJ’s; 4/4/2024-4/7/2024 (Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina): Beautiful mature nose displaying decadent sweet yellow fruit, baked apple, lemon curd, strong brioche, oyster shell, light caramel and fine limestone mineral. Perfectly integrated palate, finely layered sweet yellow fruit, delicate and airy, incredibly fine medium generous mousse, bright acidity, fine limestone mineral, and a seamless long yellow fruit driven finish with strong brioche at the end. Super fine mousse is really attractive. This is exceptional fined wine that is drinking beautifully.

Shrimp Heads Ride Again (PS Steak (Pseudo La Belle Vie, Mpls, MN)): Medium gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. Same bottle as Chablis28, and I think Craig's note is spot on. This is more oxidative now, showing toast, almond, flan, green melon, and honey on the nose. The palate shows the oxidativeness more, golden pear, honey, baked fruit, lemon, briny minerality, sour lemon, mature and richer than in its youth. I've got some, and I not worried at this point. Still excellent, but one to keep an eye on.

this bottle was really singing tonight - certainly mature but so delicious and complex but with a distinct lightness and freshness to it - lovely

Solid performer. Lots of green apple and spice notes, especially cinnamon. Dosage feels a touch high for my taste, so serve chilled if you want to lessen that sensation of sweet. Very enjoyable though.

Return of the Shrimp Heads to La Belle Vie, now PS Steak in Minneapolis. 6 of us back in our beloved lounge w/ the old LBV lounge menu. CV,KB,LI,BB,JV & MA. Lonny's btl tonight. I've had this a couple times before going back 6yrs to Jan 2018 and it has mellowed substantially. Tonight, its delightful with fruit cocktail, mineral, bread & more mineral. This is much more finessed than in its youth and 100% ready to go. Maybe even a little past if you prefer the livelier presentation in its youth like me. That said, I enjoyed every drop & where it's at in maturity too. Drink up if you own them IMO.
