Raisins on the nose. On the palate, figs, raisins, apricot, molasses, and brown sugar, with a long finish and significant sweetness to balance some rather rough acidity on the finish. This was excellent, and it has the complexity of a superior dessert wine, but it isn't smooth enough to be really outstanding. Even so, it's a good deal at the price (under $40 for 375 ml).

This is exceptional. I had the 1985 at a restaurant and loved it. That vintage was unavailable at retail but found the 1983. For me it is better than the 1985 although it is hard to know the provenance of the restaurant glass. Almost black. Viscous on pouring. Nose of molasses, dark chocolate and espresso. Add dried dates, burnt caramel and burnt orange rind on the palate. Good acidity and very long. Finished the bottle a week after opening and it was still excellent.

This PX continues to drink like a champ. Deep dark brown in color, with viscous, glass-staining legs. The nose is clean and developed, with pronounced aromas of dried figs, prunes, raisins, dark chocolate and espresso. The palate is lusciously sweet, dense and full-bodied, but nicely balanced by medium (+) acidity. The flavor intensity is pronounced and the finish is long, syrupy and persistent. You've really got to try it to believe it.

This wine has not changed in 10 years. Viscous, but with nice acidity giving it lift. Complex and long. Probably not as good as the '71, but excellent and should last forever.

The wine looks tawny colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like molasses, fig and raisin. It tastes like fig, raisin, cinnamon and molasses. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

Enofusión 2015; 2/2/2015-2/4/2015 (IFEMA - Madrid): On the nose classy aromas of raisins, dried apricots and figs and prunes of great quality, meanwhile on the palate bloom up notes of caramel paste with red fruit and sweet pine. Almost menthol. Gran class. It is a crime to melted it with any kind of food.
Pure elegance and silkiness. Very long and really persistent. An unique wine. Class in the glass.

Pasas, orejones y ciruelas de gran calidad en nariz, mientras en boca aparece una pasta de caramelo con frutos rojos y pino dulce en boca. Casi mentolado. Gran clase. Es un crimen fundirlo con otros alimentos.
Pura elegancia y sedosidad. Gran longitud y persistencia. Un vino único. Clase en la copa.

The wine is clear and bright with a pale lemon colour.

The nose is clean and fully developed, showing pronounced intensity aromas of green fruit (yellow apple), citrus (lemon peel), yeast (generic yeast), acetaldehyde and hints of almonds.

The wine is dry in the mouth with a low acidity. It has a low alcohol (for a fortified wine) and a medium(-) body. It has pronounced intensity flavours of aromas of green fruit (yellow apple), citrus (lemon peel), yeast (generic yeast), acetaldehyde and almonds. The finish is medium(+).

It is a very good quality wine. It is very expressive of its style, thanks to its yeasty and acetaldehyde aromas, it has a persistent finish and very concentrated flavour. However it could be more complex.

Drink now, there is no point in ageing it since it is already fully developed.

Free Style Wednesday Wine Night (Extra Space): Tasted blind.
Appearance is opaque deep intensity black colour. Like molten tar. Thick viscous legs.
Nose was strangely only of medium intensity, with aromas of sweet dried black tea leaves and Chinese herbs. Developed.
On the palate, sweet, balanced high acidity, high alcohol (17%), full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of dried apricots, raisins, sweet tea leaves, and diluted Chinese herbal syrup Nin Jiom Pei Pa Kao. Long finish.
Outstanding quality PX. Aged and complex.

Only ~1500 bottles produced, very nice boxing and bottle design.
I opened my bottle today and was quite disappointed, comparing this 61 vintage with the 46er. I first noticed, that it was quite fluid albeit its deep brown/black color, compared with the 46er which is much more oily.
Color is deep brown/black with yellow brown streaks and tears in the glass.
Nose was very flat at the beginning, but opened up with time, offering nice, but not overwhelming PX notes.
It has a very high acidity, which feels a bit unintegraded, but blends somehow in after some time in the glass. It lacks some complexity on the mid palate and has a long but not as overwhelming finish as other Toro Albalas I had before.
Therefore I am a bit disapponted because at least this bottle is not a good value for the money.
And as it is PX Sherry it is certain that it won't improve with time :)

A private lunch (Restaurant De Gieser Wildeman *, Noordeloos, Netherlands): Deep brown colour, the appearance of motor oil; very aromatic nose, not too sweet, nuts, flowers, raisins, spices, liquorice root and meat extract, fresh but deep and intense; the palate is powerful and rich, sweetness kept in check by well-balanced oak, rich and layered flavours, very good length.
