Cork was in a very good condition. Still alive without any signs of decline. Classical Sangiovese mainly on the red fruit with tertiary notes in the background. On the palate fresh with mellowed tannins, good mouth feel and long finish. For sure it will not improve with further ageing, but there is also no hurry to drink the last bottles, it will stay on this level for a couple of years if well stored, hard to believe that this is already 20 years old. But paired really well with our Italian meal of Pasta, Sunday "gravy", pork chops and Spicy Italian Sausages. Very soft on the palette, but stood it's ground to the seasonings and acids of the meal. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comment

Fruity nose of cherries, ripen strawberries, light wood, vinaigrette, dark coffee, earth, forest floor, spices, black pepper and tobacco leaf. Nice nose. Medium-bodied with medium plus acidity. Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, currants, barnyard, vegetables, dark chocolates, diet cola, earth, leather, tobacco leaf, spices, wood, light cloves, herbs and peppercorn. Nice tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries. This 14 year old Chianti Classico is still drinking very nicely. Nicely balanced with a nice soft mouthfeel. A good food wine and even good by itself. Need is an hour of airtime to open up. Paired very nicely with the double cream Brie cheese. 12.5% alcohol by volume. 90 points. Musty dusty funky oranges, somewhat disjointed sugary stuff. Then on day 2 (vacu-vinned) it opened so nicely. Movie night, with salty popcorn and some Rice Krispy treats. Then it blossomed open. Very inexpensive wine that aged better than wines 5x it’s price. Fruit notes gone in nose, but beautiful blueberry&blackberry notes in mid/end. Super fresh and balanced. J'ai acheté trois de cette bouteille le 30 juillet 2016. J'ai apporté la première à la fête de mon amie Nadia en décembre 2017 et voilà que je sors une deuxième de ces bouteilles. Un excellent vin italien rempli de saveurs exquises. La troisième bouteille peut rester encore quelque temps dans mon cellier et je trouverai bien une excellente occasion pour la savourer convenablement. On aime ça! Do you find this review helpful? Coming from someone who can’t stand cheap tasting Sangiovese, this is the real deal. 35% Cabernet aged in small oak barrels, this drinks much more new world with HUGE blackberry fruit and wonderful acidity/bold tannins. Still very young, another 7-10 years is certainly attainable and may even warrant a higher score. Still have another bottle and look forward to enjoying with with a Beef/lamb roast in 2025+.
