Double decanted x 2 about an hour before taking to a wine dinner at 6:30. First tasted around 8PM. Drinking very well with the extra air but really needs 5+ more yrs. Enjoyed new but saving my last btl till 2020+. Drinks like a highend Brunello and should at $47 per. Great balance and typicity.

Hard to believe it is 18 years old. Drinking perfectly now. Good mix of mature fruit, gentle oak, acidity. Perfume and spice on the nose. Hits the palate with balanced black fruits. Silky texture but still a big wine. Long fine finish.

Progressing beautifully and higher value than in earlier years. The nose is dark fruit and very earthy. Great chewy texture on the palate, with elements of tobacco and spice and a big hit of acid. On the finish tannins really flourish and go on. Still seems youngish, but definitely in a great zone.

Wow! Subtle yet powerful all in one sip. On the nose very light. Strawberry, dust, currant and tobacco. On the palate good tannin, medium acid, dry with currant, tobacco, black cherry and barn yard. A fantastic super Tuscan!

This is for sure a wine in its own leage. I believe, that the hype of this vintage, mostly from Monica Larner and James Suckling (two writers, I dont have so much respect for) is too much. There are some great wines, but my opinion Antonio Galloni nailed it this time. This from Molinari is a 100 point wine, and I have not tasted any other Brunello 2010, getting near this. I have tasted around 200 of them, and i have not missed any of the best. I am a great fan of Molinari, and this is a wine on the level or better than the 2001 and 2006. Elegance, power, red berries, sweet tannins, amazing balance. Words are difficult to find. This is the wine of the vintage

This wine from one of the great Brunello producers is getting a bit long in the tooth but still very nice.

Very different from my last bottle. It didn't have any of that oxidized note, which is good. It started out sort of meekly red-fruited with autumnal apple scents, but it kept deepening in tone and putting on weight throughout dinner. While it started out leaner and mellower than the '99, by the end it might have been even richer and had developed a saturating black-fruited richness.

Medium garnet, a bit darker than the 2007. Discrete nose of rose petals, red fruit, sour cherry in with cedar and some spices. This as well has excellent Burgundian elegance. Medium-light bodied, more structured than the 2007, so it will benefit from additional cellaring. If you ask me which one is better, all I would say, drink the 07 now and wait another 3 years for the 08, both wines are equally awesome. I am really impressed how they make such a gentle and elegant wine out of Sangiovese (after all Tuscany is quite a warm place). If you are a Bordeaux drinker, think Vieux Chateau Certan, Domaine de Chevalier or Chateaux Margaux.

Medium-light garnet. brick rim. Discrete nose of sour cherry in the top note supplemented with rose petals, red fruit and sweet spices. The nose is quite closed, holding the wine on the palate reveals a lot of flavor strength with a long, exciting finish. Enters with sublime Burgundian elegance, almost light bodied yet structured. How can they make a wine that is so light yet so aromatic and present on the palate (for reference, I am preferring this to the 2006 Biondi Santi which I have coravined next to it for reference and that is a great wine as well). The tannins are very soft but there is prominent astringency at the finish - tell tale of top Sangiovese or Nebbiolo. This is classic Italy after all, an elegant wine for food that cleanses your palate after a nice mediterranean dish, more Musigny than Tuscany, wow! 97+

Another fantastic Rosso from Diego Molinari. He is the best. A very young wine. Perfect now, and will be for many years. One of the 5 best Rosso, I have ever tasted. Fresh, fruity, crispy, elegant. I perfect example of how to make Sangiovese in Montalcino. 90 % of the Brunellos are not near this level.

Opened this wine together with the Rosso di Montalcino 2007 also from Molinari. This Brunello di Montalcino 2010 was given to me by Diego and Nora just after bottling in september 2014. It is simply a masterpiece. Everything is there. A true classic Brunello. Fermentation in cement, and then the big old slavoniak cask. One of the best wines from Diego. A benchmark for the Brunello 2010, and I cannot imagine, that I will find a better Brunello 2010. In 3 weeks I will taste more than 200 of the 2010 Brunello i Montalcino, but they dont have a chance

This is probably the best Rosso di Montalcino, I ever tasted. 95 is a high score, but I am closer to 96 than 94. In a blind tasting, this wine will kill at least 90 % of all the Brunellos. What a masterpiece of the great Commander, Diego Molinari. Hard to find the right words for this wine. WOW

R92-93. Great energy in the wine. Clarity and purity but not depth or intensity of fruit. Glycerine. Soft and elegant tannins. Good acidity, paired well with Orecchiette at Osteria Mozza. Good mouth feel. Amazing mid palate but lack of super long finish. Well made, very enjoyable, but not amazing. Would love to try a better vintage. First Cerbaiona BDM ever, although have had the 2010 Rosso and really enjoyed.

Dark ruby. Black cherry, anise, sweet spices on the nose, with a bit of underlying oak. Bright jammy fruit on the palate, a hint of cola, brine cured olives, some alcohol heat at the back, long acid finish. A dark and seductive wine. 50+17+15+7. [Interesting, it's not often that I have a rating so out of whack with the consensus.]

I drink a lot of Tuscan wine, and this is probably the best Brunello I've ever had. Singing from the get-go. Transparent magenta. Fruit profile starts out as black cherry, and with air reddens and sweetens to strawberry shortcake. Very well-integrated vanilla oak, licorice, bitter herbs. Palate is even more impressive than the nose--fantastic concentration in a soft, light package. Extremely long with no rough edges. Fantastic now, but with plenty of stuffing and structure to trade fruit for complexity profitably with further aging: bright acidity perfectly balances the fruit, and the tannin provides a nice texture with only a hint of drying on the palate. As good a $100 red as I've ever had. Whoever says Sangiovese isn't a noble grape needs to give one of these a try.

This is really good - Molinari is top producer - his wines are fantastic integrated - this is elegant and smooth touching your mouth - fruit still very much a live - but subdued in an elegant manner - nicely integrated with tannins and acidity - long lasting pleasant aftertaste - I am really impressed had this as a vertical tasting with 2005 - happy I have more of 2007 - 95 is very well deserved - and one of the highest ratings I have ever given.

Very good, elegant and in my wheelhouse style wise, just didn't show the depth and wow factor I had hoped for. That said maybe another 5yrs would make this a more fully realized wine. I bought this recently and missed out on the lower release price. Paid $170, drank like $60. An '07 I had last year was significantly more impressive. This was so completely overshadowed by a stunning '91 Mondavi Cabernet Reserve served at the same dinner and one of my top 2-3 wines drank this year. I love '04 Brunello but perhaps my expectations were too high last night compounded by its table mates.
