Drank over two nights. On night one, the nose was rocking on opening with loads of cranberry, cherry and spice. Palate was initially medium bodied with plush fruit and balance, but within 30 minutes turned hard as nails. Structure and acid we're dominating at that point. On night two, the wine is once again fleshy with plush fruit that gives black cherry all day on the palate. Nice spice kick. Juicy acidity gives lift and balance. Terrific.

A fine example of a well-crafted California chard. Bright citrus with well balanced ripeness, acidity, and minerality. Seamless, with excellent energy and zest. Bravo.

West of West Wine Festival (West Sonoma Coast Vintners) (City Winery - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. All red cherry in a lean, elegant style. Today I found it to come across as slightly angular, but like the potential.

Drinking extremely well right now. Delicious. Great balance of fruit and acid. One of the best examples of Ceritas I've ever had.

12.9% alcohol. This needed about two hours to open up, but once it did it drank beautifully. Aromatically cool and controlled, if somewhat reserved/understated, with black cherry, currant, violet, spice, and soil/damp forest notes. In the mouth, modestly proportioned with a decidedly cool, dry, and tart complexion to the fruit. The acidity serves to give the fruit a redder, brighter tone, along with citrus top note. Gentle, caressing, moderate length finish.

Watery yellow;Citrus peel on the nose; lemon, lemon chiffon, oak nowhere in the way, slight sweetness but right amount, low acid but enough (not chablis). Wow, wish we had a magnum of this between my son and I to drink in Kailua, Hawaii. This is drinking exceptionally well now, although years in the cellar will likely improve. Thank you John and Phoebe and Phoebe's parents for this vineyard. Wish I had a case.

A sneaker bottle: a wine that is instantly enjoyable and a crowd-pleaser, but which also rewards closer examination and tasting. A new world wine, but one with balance and pure expression of Pinot fruit. Looking forward to seeing how this one evolves in the years to come.

12.9% alcohol. Texturally leaner/linear with a rather unique CA chard aromatic and flavor profile of citrus peel, lemon ice, saline/sea breeze, chalk, and minerals. For me, what impresses most about this wine is its laser like spine of acidity, which really gives the wine cut, energy, definition, and drive/thrust. For what it is worth, unlike some other CT notes, I did not pick up any overt creaminess or oak notes. Lovely wine.

I thought I detected some TCA on this, but I was in the minority. Some florals and red cherry underneath, but there's a dominant dirty overtone that I just cannot get past. A little flat on the palate as well, leading me to believe that this is not a pristine bottle.

Opened by TLV. Cherry notes dominate but there is a great earthy undertone. The palate follows the bouquet, with cherries and earth and a hint of spice on the finish.

Popped and poured, light straw flecked with gold. Very floral upon first pour, think jasmine & honeysuckle along with notes of sliced lime, apple slices, subtle medicinal phenols and an impression of briny minerals. Medium body. Where to begin with the multi-dimensional palate -- perhaps the notes of green apple, yeast and mild hops?? To some extent, almost like a quality weiss beer...! That said, with expressive fruit complimented by an impression of steely, saline minerals and razor sharp acidity, this is mostly reminiscent of great Grand Cru Chablis...actually, make that profound.
Epic CA Chardonnay in this bottle -- what more could you want?
Drink now with a decant or at least few hours of air, better to age this an additional 2-3 years and hope for fireworks immediately off the pop.

Popped and poured, light straw/gold. The aromas harmonize in a mild cadence of freshly squeezed lemons, paraffin, stoney minerals and subtle florals along with a hint of spice from oak. Aeration only seems to draw out the floral notes. Medium-light body, with great poise and textural presence. Similar to the nose, this shows flavors of mild, fresh citrus with an impression of stoney minerals, the latter element also showing a touch of salinity. Precise acidity cuts through on the moderate finish.
Could use 1-2 more years in the cellar.

Day 2 update:

This is just a showstopper on the second day, with riveting aromas of lemon, lemon verbena & chalky minerals. The palate has grown far more substantial and shows a much fuller expression of citrus-dredged apple slices mashed over crushed stones...just killer!
If opening now, decant for 3-4 hours.
Or better, just forget about it for a couple of years... ;)

Quick comments:
1. Not sure if any oak was used but this did seem to show a tiny bit.
2. Very similar to the 2011 but comes off as more understated and lacking in tension.
3. See day 2 update before opening.

Opened by Allred at Anvil. There was something off about this bottle, perhaps ever so slightly corked. I've never had an Elliott before, so I'm not sure if this bottle was representative or not. In order not to skew the numbers, I'm listing this as flawed.

Juicy and easy to drink. Pale yellow color. Lots of citrus fruit. Lemon and grapefruit framed well by oaky notes. Mineral and stone. This is a Chard for those "low oak" lovers. The oak is there, but it serves its proper purpose.

This took forever to come around, finally showing some sweet cherry fruit on the nose. Palate was light, with red fruits, and a bit sour with a slightly green steamy note. Short to moderate finish--fresh and bitter but not complex. I was hoping for a bit more given the price. Hold and cross fingers.

Ok, much better and more expressive on night 2. More in line with expectations. Bumped a point.

Aromas of lemon peel, pear, apples and minerals. The flavors match with citrus and minerals up front then green apple and a hint of herbs. Medium acidity and strong minerality add structure. Drinking well now but likely not at its peak and should age several more years.

Really needs a long decant for allot of the vanilla and creme notes to blow off and reveal the expressive tart raspberries, spice and bing cherry tones, palate is medium plus acidity, fresh, fragranat and persistent with a wonderful finish - consistent over two bottles

Decanted half an hour. Initial burst of banana turns to coconut then pear, limestone and citrus. The palate mirrors the bouquet with pear and citrus fruit, but there's also the terrific minerality and acidity. Hints of butter as well.
