Evolved garnet colour. Old school Bordeaux nose, red fruit, fig, undergrowth, wet leaves, hints of barnyard. Lean, slightly diluted palate, not much concentation, but the fruit is alive and there are some fine tannins. Decently balanced. Drinks more like a Bordeaux AOC than a St Emilion. Clearly evolved but drinking pretty well.

Same as I said before. Great for a 16-year old wine that's not fromthe top drawer. A little light on the fruit, but then a St Emilion of this age isn't going to be huge. Still crisp ad red fruits are there. See my last note.

Agree with Christhewino here on description. Also, nicely-aged: Brick colour, bottle aromas. It has good acidity, but not a lot of fruit on the palate. Has a Light-medium weight, and present late dry wood tannins, but not heavy. Old schooll style, well-done mid-level getting a bit old now. Not bad for 12 pounds, or about $19. Good with a light roast.
As it opens up after 10 minutes, some red fruits omem through (sweet cherry, Cabernet red fruit, and some minerality comes through. The palate lengthens to a mouthwatering extent, and tingles to the end when the soft drying tannins appear. This mmight be a lot better than I initially thought. It's still medium-light, and could do with some more body, but in essence, great value from majestic.

Aromas of leather and damp pine with plum and red fruits. The palate is smooth with a final woody dryness that doesn't detract from the fairly full fruit flavours. Maybe not many years left in this so enjoy now while it is very good.
