4/12/2024 - skurtz Likes this wine: 92 pointsDecanted for 2-3h before enjoying on a Fri night. Vanilla, oaky cedarwood on the nose. Bright red fruit, cherries, mineral, toothy tannins, great acidity in the finish. Soft and smooth. This is aging gracefully. Very solid showing from a good value right bank Bdx. Plenty of life left. Tonight with spicy cauliflower panang curry. |

3/19/2024 - classicalspin Likes this wine: 92 pointsVery good, entering its drinking window. Will benefit from a few more years as it can knit together further. Possibly evolving to a 93. Good out of the bottle, but was better and more supple second day. |

3/8/2024 - FransS wrote: 94 pointsA terrific good wine, starting with high tones, red fruit and a whiff of vanilla, The citrus in the midtaste gives a super freshness and than comes the finish; a superb creamy impression, very smooth bitters and ripe tannins and a long caressing and very balanced aftertaste. |

3/9/2024 - Jeff Leve wrote: 93 pointsIncense, espresso, spice, herbs and red fruits make an appearance in the nose. On the medium-bodied palate, the wine is supple, creamy, round and fresh with layers of ripe, plums and dark, red cherries with a hint of sea salt and a refreshing edge of chocolate mint that comes in at the end of the finish. This is quite strong for the vintage. Drink from 2024-2038. |

1/18/2024 - Bimal Likes this wine: 91 pointsHas great fruit, balance and structure but lacks complexity and is mono dimensional. Cannot fault it in any way but lacking in evoking sensory pleasures. Holds well, probably has significant life, but do not see it dramatically improving. Easily approachable more like a solid new world merlot. |

12/31/2023 - Swaggering Beaunie Likes this wine: NRTasted after a 5-hour double decant, this was a delicious wine, with fine but assertive tannins, that went well with our roast leg of lamb on this 35th wedding anniversary. Clearly, though, this wine is just dipping its toe into the water of its drinking window. It has decades of gradual improvement ahead, for those with the patience (and youth) to age it out. |

12/22/2023 - prism wrote: 90 pointsPopped and poured, did not decant. Dark chocolate, not a lot of fruit: some bing cherry. Tannins nearly resolved. I don't see this getting better, but it paired nicely with chili on a cold December evening. |

3/24/2016 - Mossrose wrote: 94 pointsVery dark opaque pour colored to the edge. Inviting deep fruit aromas centered on black cherry with black plum and hints of mushroom and violets. A rich mouth coating and caressing taste. The swallow is fairly rounded and well supported by structuring acidity and tannin. Let warm up in the glass, the wine is surprisingly delicious and enjoyable now, but well worth aging for more years to become even more spectacular. A heady 15% alcohol in no way interferes with enjoying the wine. |

12/10/2023 - Bottle Dog Likes this wine: 94 pointsDark ruby red. After 5 hours of double decant, the nose has become rich and dark and forest floor. On the palate, fruits become more front and centre, with loads of plum jam. Velvety smooth tannins. Good backbone, and some tautness on the acidity. Lovely lingering flavour. Not overly complex, but some interesting notes for sure. This is only going to improve from here, but is delightful to drink right now. |

6/30/2023 - Geerath wrote: 92 pointsNose of bramble, damson plum, violets, licorice, dried tea. More simplistic palate with a mix of red and dark fruits, spicy, the wine is very silky. Tannins are medium and whole mouth. Acid is medium but balanced, perhaps more noticeable prickle forward (tip) on the tongue. Despite its midweight savoury balance it’s still more new world leaning to me. Easy to drink now. 92-93 |

10/28/2023 - stokeme wrote: NRLight Cork & earth, not terroir type notes, more like dirt. No fruit, cork & earth on the palette, somewhat bitter + alcohol thru the finish. Tannic bite, not overly stiff. With air, the nose blows off some of the lesser attributes. In the mouth a suggestion of fruit, but still some cork on the finish. Just mostly dark & damp after an hour. Not much plum, cherry or berry. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (7) |

10/28/2023 - StBlGT wrote: 87 pointsPnP. This is a pretty rich wine. Dark plum, dark cherry, faint chocolate, but unfortunately not much earthiness or complexity. The alcohol is coming through some (not a lot, but it's there). Low/medium tannin and medium/high acid. The wine is fine, but definitely nothing to write home about. Too modern for my palate. It's ready to drink now and doesn't need a decant. I don't see this as a long ager. Drink now-2029. 87 points. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

10/21/2023 - WineGuyDelMar Likes this wine: 92 pointsDecanted 2 1/2 hours and drank over the next hour. Smooth, rich & opulent. I found it a bit one dimensional though. I didn’t think it was amazing but very good and well worth the money. |

10/17/2023 - TallMikeWine Likes this wine: 91 pointsComing around. I waited 2+ years since the first bottle (89) and there's more roundness to the fruit, and some spice kicking in. Tannins still need to calm down a bit, also the acid. Wait another 2 years for my final bottle? Maybe I will do that! 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |
