cork completely soaked through but still in very good shape. color is still excellent, deep ruby red with no sign of bricking even at the edge. nose is reticent, has a tang to it, though in general not giving much at first.

palate reveals a full evolved wine with no discernible tannin after 2 hours open. still fresh and alive with slightly smoky flavours, a well-balanced wine but practically no fruit remains. having not tasted wine from this chateau it's hard to judge what this would have been like younger. obviously drink it if you've got it.. less than perfect storage would have this be wayyyy far gone at this point.

Still some nice fruit left. Great balance and that 13% alcohol elegance that might be lost for ever. Drink now.

Solid aged Pomerol! Powerful and bright, still has life left to improve further. Cedar chest, Celery/Fennell, and melted fruit. This was a pleasant surprise..Worth seeking if you can find well stored bottles out there...

popped and poured, unable to enjoy (raw like cheap wine, although over $30), corked back up for cooking wine, happily drank the smooth stags leap artemis instead, and the penner ash 2011 pinot noir. It was ok for cooking though, since not bad tasting, just not smooth enough for enjoyable drinking.

ok, i drank the last taste after being open 2 days and it was actually good. reminder to be patient with bordeaux wines.

Very pungent nose and taste the initial hour, but faded quite quickly.
I decanted this bottle for about 1 Hrs, but my suggestion now would be NOT to do same ( keep in bottle ).
All in all, a standard Pomerol bottle of wine, quite enjoyable.

Colour was a medium purplish hue. Aromas of coffee, cassis, oak, slight earthiness, vanilla and slightly sweet dark berries. Palate was Dark fruits, wood, oak. Tannins were very resolved and balanced. Silky and smooth. Finish was moderately long and lingering. Perfect to drink now and a very easy and pleasant wine to consume.

Stored in a cold cellar since release. High neck fill level. Perfect cork.
Lovely old Pomerol. Needed a long time to reveal itself. Always a problem about decanting old (well for Pomerol) claret. Not decanted. Eventually medium bodied, rounded but just enough fruit for the tannin, well balanced. Best for complexity which I prize above all. Drink now.

Medium/deep ruby/garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose is discreet with sweet red fruit, notes of plum, soil. Medium bodied, cranberry, strawberry, soil, soft tannins, fruit profile darkening with time in glass, elegant, good length harmonious finish. Enjoyable, nicely balanced if not particularly complex. Drinking well, but no hurry.

Raspberries, earth and licorice in the nose. Already quite approachable, good length and nicely balanced. Good drinking wine ... not too complex but easy drinking and fun.

Disappinting. Fruit almost gone, with a somewhat medicianial taste. Little finish. Smooth, velvety mouth feel and some other redeeming qualities, but not a "92". Did not get better as night wore on. Will drink up.

Much more smooth than expected. Tannins present but mellow. Velvety with a tad of "feel" on the finish. Last glass in the bottle and I will not complain.

Brownish red with bricking on the edge.
Nose of amazing cedar and black liquorice, hints of candied plum.
Elegant yet powerful mouthfeel, with some still evident acidity and beautifully integrated tannins that helped bring out the subtle fruit. An amazing wine, 94pts.

overwhelmingly tannic and very muted on first pull.

we let it breathe in bottle for 3-4 hrs, then served from a decanter.

have to say we were very pleased with this - based on comments below, i didnt have high hopes for it. delicate perfume of ripe cherries, raspberries, cassis, new leather, toasted oak, spring flowers. unbelievable how the tannins smoothed out after a few hours - very fine textured with velvety mouthfeel that caresses the palate. rather fresh as well. look forward to trying this again in 5-7 yrs.

No formal note, but this showed attractive pure, slightly creamy red fruit with notes of plum and a slight herbal hint. Medium bodied on the palate, nicely proportioned but by no means richly layered, with fine, integrated tannins and winning fresh acidity. A good length, harmonious finish. Drinking well, but actually think there is no particular hurry and this may show a touch more complexity with a couple more years.
