Black with a deep ruby rim. Intense nose of black currant and pencil lead. Medium bodied on the palate with good presence and length, somewhat youthful tannins on the finish. Solid Cru Bourgeois.

Three French wines walked into a Kebob House: showing young - though quite drinkable. opens with led and cassis. dark berries. ripe mid with good acidity and chewy tannins. tasty, medium finish with some zing. i would say this will develop well for several more years and will be a lovely dinner wine. Shows the classic potential of cru bourgeois wines.

This is workable. There are simple ripe and rounded red and black fruits. Easygoing... lacking middle and a little ripe/firm on the finish.

Decanted for one hour. The nose had blackcurrant, blackberry, raspberry with a hint of flowers and traces of leaf, cream, vanilla and chocolate. The wine glides over the palate with a satisfying viscous mouthfeel. The berry finish is decent with a good kick. Good structure. Really good quality wine. This one is a winner. Recommended.

This was stored too well. It tastes very young. It's still angular and somewhat rustic. I should've waited 4 or 5 more years.

Sharp, smoothes with 2 hours breathing, should have held longer in the cellar.

Decanted for 1 hour. Fruity blackcurrant nose. The palate is nicely developed with reasonable fruit concentration. Fruity finish. This is in a traditional 'no-frills' understated Bordeaux style. It is not going to blow you away. I am halfway through a case of this and will miss it when it is gone. A good choice to drink alongside more celebrated Bordeaux's. Also I'd recommend getting 375cl bottles for some great value lunch-time drinking.

Wine is slighty cloudy and bright in appearance. Deep ruby red in color and showing medium viscosity. On the nose the wine has a medium concentration of aromas such as ripe black currant, plum, and black cherry. Non-fruit aromas include herbs and tea. There is an earthy character represented by notes of iron. In addition there is a noticeable presence of oak marked by aromas of baking spices and pepper. On the palate the wine is bone dry with medium plus tannin, medium plus acidity, and medium alcohol. Overall the wine is medium in body with a medium finish and has a medium degree of complexity.

Good value and reliable. As before: lovely cassis, a touch of oak, classic claret. Perhaps a little thin and finish is only medium and a bit tart but for the price, it's very good.
... 9 days later, 250ml left and stored in fridge under gas. Very good, mature nose, classic, still fruity, very open. Somewhat reminiscent of a cru class mature claret from the 90s. A little thin but great value! Quite a bit of sediment in bottle.

A good value bordeaux with slight brick color, and gentle fruit aromas. The wine is probably over the peak, but still manage to be a good company to a game-dinner. The lenght is medium, and with forrest berries, minerals and a hint of chocolate at the palate. If you have any bottles left - drink them.

Deep ruby red color. Dark fruits on the nose (blackberries, cherries, and currants) along with some tobacco and oak. On the palate there is a good amount of dark fruit coming through that is almost jammy, but the finish is a bit more tannic than I'd like, which cuts the experience a little short. Decanting, even for hours, didn't seem to lessen the harshness of the tannins for me--suggesting it may have a few years before it reaches its peak.

An incredible value for what I paid ($7.99/375ml). Unbeatable for a Tuesday night wine.

59% Cabernet Sauvignon
35% Merlot
Small quantities of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot

After reading up on this producer (a negotiant for Millesima) I wanted to like it because large formats are readily available, but it falls short. Peyrabon does not grow but sources its grapes in Haut Medoc. For a vintage such as 2010, this wine is underwhelming.
Nose of alcohol, green stems (possibly from Cab Franc component) and aspirin. Can’t find the fruit. On the palate the wine is light to medium weight with strong acid and plentiful tannins. The kind that coat your tongue and teeth.
Day 2 – More of the same, alcohol, aspirin, and some dark fruits in the back ground. Palate fleshed out a bit, but ripe fruit is lacking with tannin and high acid dominating.
Day 3 - Black stewed plums joined the show, but this wine is still dominated by tannin and acid. Retailing at $20 there are better options. (see notes on Pierre de Montignac & D'Aurilhac)
Purchased from retail store and consumed over three day at 60-65 without food. This may have been better with a fatty stew or braised meat… Na zdrowie

Deep-to-opaque crimson and brimming with aromas of ripe cassis, plum, cocoa and allspice, this wine excites from the get-go. It is a medium-bodied, very approachable Bordeaux with fresh acidity, silky tannins, nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 14%) and flavors which mirror the nose. Solid in the middle and long on the finish, it performs well above its pedigree and illustrates the strength of the 2010 vintage. Enjoy it over the next five or six years. Drink now-2020.

Tasted next to the 2010 Château Du Glana, which the Peyrabon bested. This great example of backward Bordeaux showed beautifully. Agreeable nose of blackcurrant, graphite, and minerality. Juicy and rounded palate that strengthens from front to back. Blackcurrant, gravel, and graphite star on the palate. Excellent acid and great grip linger through a long tooth-coating finish.

Tour de France Blind Tasting: Dark purple and opaque colour. Instant nose of wood and liquorice with dark fruit, blackberries, and dirt. On the palate is a very bold wine with mouth gripping tannins and a long dry finish. Blind tasting narrowed it down to Bordeaux region, Cabernet based. My least favourite of the night, groups last pick as well. Drank leftovers the next day, still very tight proving this should be held for at least 5 more years before it reaches its prime.

Deep ruby color with a tinge of brown with aroma of mushroom, dark berries, licorice, and leather. The palate shows cherry, black currant, tobacco, licorice, and chocolate. Low acidity and low/med tannins. The finish is a little disappointing with not much to savor. Good for everyday drinking and good value as well.

A full-bodied, powerful wine that was hard to drink out of the bottle. After two hours in a decanter it seemed more well-rounded. Initially the fruit and tannins were overwhelming: I came up with cassis and either cedar or tobacco. I suspect it could use a couple more years to soften the rough edges.
