Medium-bodied with a hint of plum. Relatively earthy with chocolate notes. A worthwhile weekday red if sub-$20.

Smells earthy/woody, with a hint of spice. Light to medium body. Medium acidity. Less sweet, more earthy and dry.

TastingRoom intro kit: Medium ruby. Fairly intense but nondescript nose of spice and red fruit. Simple, with very little tannin and low acid.

Drinking 2010 Château Tour Saint-Georges Bordeaux; Tasting note: Clear and balanced Bordeaux from the Right Bank. Rich of minerals, clay, blueberries and spiced red fruit. Warm with medium to mideum(-) intensity. Hold for several years or drink young. (88 points)

Uninteresting, ungrounded. Syrupy sweet with ripe plum and molasses dominating. Cab franc (30%) seems to dominate here, smothering the merlot (60%). Reminds me of a California 100% cab franc.

where on earth did this come from? total surprise, given the $10 price tag... full, expressive tannic structure with nice layered black cherry, earth, leather and cinnamon... had with bbq'd filet mignon, red beans and sauteed drunken mushrooms... and was a winner... some $40 bottles from the u.s. don't drink nearly as good

Nice minerality, good flavors of black cherry, earth and a touch of blueberry. Tons of sediment. Excellent - 89 points.

Smooth, fruity, with a hint of mineral. Nice acidity, balanced by smooth tannins. You'll want to either decant or pour carefully, as there is a lot of sediment in this one.

Spice, cherry kirsch. Simple finish. Tastes more like a Grenache based Rhone wine than a Bordeaux.

2005 Bordeaux Tasting with ExCellars (Specialty Imports): Black cherry and toasty oak on the nose with a eucalyptus characteristic. Medium body with grippier tannins and a nicer texture than the La Rose and more complexity. Again on the palate is black cherry fruit with an allspice and clove note. Softer acidity than the La Rose as well. Very impressive.
