4/19/2024 - dpodratsky3 wrote: 95 pointsDeep brooding color, hits you with just a massive wave of weighty fruit on the nose, deep blueberry, dark chocolate covered berries, tannins still powerful but well integrated, hits your palette and good acidity is also evident, a multi-layered but mostly fruit forward expression. This could keep aging well depending on which flavor range you’d like to hit. |

4/17/2024 - The Grape Escape Likes this wine: 93 pointsTight upon pnp and a little disjointed. Stewed plum with a ribbon of acidic tinge to the wine. Grainy tannins that held back a lot of fruit but no magic was present. After 30-minutes the wine began to settle into its own. 45 minutes after decant, a very nice wine appeared. Typical Stags Leap wine with a very soft mouth feel. Chimney Rock tends to be a niche wine between commercialization and real quality. For my taste, this was just a very nice wine to relax and enjoy. It’s not going to have your friends posting it on social media but you will enjoy the evening and remember the wine. I enjoyed the experience. |

4/13/2024 - mdkraft99 Likes this wine: 90 pointsDecanted for about 1 hr, consumed over about 1.5 hours. Very nice and showing its age - notes of blueberry, cherry, some floral notes, maybe cassis, a little tobacco, smooth, medium-long finish, very nice but passing its prime, drink up if you have any. |

It may come around but right now after being open for 6 hours, i’d say disappointing and not a good QPR, at this stage. If you own this, I'd wait another 5 years. |

3/23/2024 - stschutz Likes this wine: 94 pointsGorgeous nose, integrated tannins and nice balance, slight leather, dried herbs, soft vanilla, and still quite youthful fruit for a nearly decade old wine. At the Nam's for a pre-11th Wedding Anniversary dinner before our trip to JeJu next week. |

2/29/2024 - Rossdhu House Likes this wine: 90 pointsSmooth and refined tannins of faded but they’re still enough there to hold it all together. Dry, Stags’ Leap, earthy leather in the zone to drink now But do continue to be concerned about the 2013 vintage’s staying power. |

2/15/2024 - Vinnut Likes this wine: 92 pointsDeep, dark, reddish-purple garnet in color; almost opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & cassis with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes, spices, minerals, some cocoa, herbal notes & vanilla/oak notes in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, plush, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, cocoa, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering dry finish. Drinks quite well with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging. |
