A great bottle of wine for a reasonable price. Hard to believe that this is 10 years old. Still has a ton of energy and primary cab attributes. Tannins have mellowed and there is a ton of sweet red and blue fruits. I don't think that this will necessarily get better with time but should hold up for another 5 years or so. Wish I had more of this vintage.

This is a very sexy wine. Purple and opaque. The nose is an intoxicating fruit forward blend of tobacco, cola and sweet cherries. Consistent palate, balanced mouth feel and surprisingly soft tannins for 2011. A very well put together wine. 5+13+16+8=92

Outstanding cab, great QPR for high quality Napa Cab. Rich Stags leap fruit profile, everything is there. Still youthful at 10 years, wish I had more.

From the Winery:

Redolent of crushed raspberries, kirsch, and rhubarb, this evocative wine delights with hints of violets and cedar. Brimming with minerality resonant of its vineyard origins, this wine’s notes of loam and gravel complement the powdered chocolate tannins that create a luxurious and lengthy mouthfeel.

Very good flavor initially out of the bottle. I thought this to be initially past prime. The nose initially was that of wood and earth with fruit notes of cherries and strawberry. Not too much oak. Long lingering finish. Opened up quickly with decant under 30 minutes. Still good, drink up.

This is typically a summer staple for us. This bottle was a bit indistinct. We favor grapefruit and lemon zest flavors typical of Lede. In this case, the fruit was muted but some acidity remained. This bottle favored the more mineral notes of of some Loire wines. Not quite what we expected but still refreshing.

Best of the many tastings at the Napa Valley Jazz Getaway. Big and jammy but with such elegance. Worth every penny.

Dark fruited and leaning to the over-ripe side. Not showing a lot freshness or complexity, similar to my experience with the "regular" 2005 Cliff Lede cab. I'd hoped for more.

Nose: Lemon, melon rind, very light grass notes, yellow Apple

Palate: crisp ripe pear, Apple, honeysuckle, banana

Tastes just like I remember it from the dinner a week or so ago.

In OC, last two bottles. These "rock block" wines from Lede are always fun to drink and well made. Drank one with Bryan, the second with Butch and Ralph. Opened for about 30 minutes, drank each over about 45 minutes. Second bottle was with steak - which is the "natural habitat" for this wine - perfect with steak.

Dark purple/red color. Beautiful nose right out of the glass. Red and dark fruits, vanilla oak. Palate is smooth, classic California Cab. Primary wine, oak and tannins are well integrated. Black fruit, vanilla, lavender/violet

Ready to drink now, best guess is it holds at this level for about 5 years.

Took a full 6 hours of decanting for this wine to open up. Generous with dark fruits, earthiness, pencil lead, mocha in a rich package. Nose was somewhat closed. Long finish with fine tannins. Full bodied. Excellent with gorgonzola topped filets. Memorable

The nose on this one was pretty pronounced with menthol and bell pepper at first. Decanted 2 hours and much better. The first taste on pop n pour was really tannic...I mean give me a glass of water I'm parched....2 hours later it was pretty smooth. Pleasing finish and a good if not great bottle. I would definitely wait a couple of years or just decant for 2-3 hours before enjoying. Probably lean towards waiting as the upside versus drinking now is probably worth the gamble.

Average nose. A little flat and weak. This wine has been open for about 3 hours and it has gotten progressively weaker over that time. I think that it has another 5 years at best. Had with a ribeye steak. Glad to clear out room in the cellar for 2014 Bordeaux.

Huge wine, so rich and almost overripe as a lot of 2012 Napa cabs seem to be, but this keeps it together nicely. Very complex on the nose and palate and needed serious air time to be drinkable. Will be great in time. 92-93+.

Cliff Lede is rapidly becoming one of my favorite winemakers. This is a beautiful Bordeaux style blend from Napa and does not disappoint. Soft tannins and balanced fruit. This wine is still young and needs a few more years in the bottle to unlock its potential, but great stuff.
