Very nice. Simple but good. Not overly rich dark fruit, a little smoke, and some nice pepper flavors that were accentuated by the BBQ sauce.

On initial pour, has some light oak and small fruit in the aroma, and a lighter flavor with an edge, and a little bit of sharpness (maybe from the oak). As it opens up, the aroma gains some depth and earthiness, more fruit comes out in the flavor.

Tasted at about 67°F.

As an entry level zin this makes no sense when buying in the UK as it is at least twice the price of comparable quality wines from almost anywhere on the globe.

From one of my favorite tasting rooms to visit, way over 20 times, I have to give a disappointing review of this Zin. Reduction is the problem. Rubber and diesel from nose to finish. Been swirling like crazy and might have to pour this in the drain. Industrial cleaner, chemicals, manipulated. This winery has been hit or miss for almost a decade now. When we get a good one "hooray Cline is back", but not this time.

Really can't do much better than this for a $15 zin. Started out a little peppery, then became milder and a little fruity later on. A very drinkable, excellent value bottle of wine.

Good acid and fruit balance for the price and, at $9, a good PVR on a versatile weekend lunch or weeknight casual choice.

The wine is clear and bright with a medium ruby colour.

The nose is clean and developing, showing pronounced intensity aromas of black fruit (dark cherries, dark plums, blackberries) and oak (clove, cedar).

The wine is off-dry in the mouth with a low acidity. It has medium(+) ripe supple tannins and a high warm alcohol. It has a full body and pronounced intensity flavours of black fruit (dark cherries, dark plums, blackberries) and oak (clove, cedar). The finish is long.

It is a good quality wine. It has a lingering finish and very concentrated flavours in balance with the warm alcohol. On the othar hand the acidity is too low and the wine comes out rather flat, it could be more complex too.

Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and fruit concentration to be kept for 1-2 years more, albeit I would not expect it to develop much more complexity.

This wine has a nose of blueberries, red jam, and white pepper. The color is vibrant and there are medium to light tannins on the palate. It is reasonably easy to drink though there was a bit of alcohol on the mouth as I first opened it. There is nothing that stands out about the wine yet it is decent; especially at this $12.99 price point.

Decant it if at all possible. Opens up nicely. Nice berries and smooth.
Picked up a bottle at grocery outlet for $3.99. Went back and bought a case!!!
This is what I would expect from a decent $12-14$ bottle. Not what I'd pull out for a nice dinner but nice enough to keep guests away from my good stuff!!!

No need to let this one breathe, but we did anyway for an hour or so. At the winery, they recommend a chocolate pairing, so we tried it with chocolate mousse. Paired well, but was missing that punch that remembered while tasting it at Cline.

Nose is slightly reductive at first with some rubber and gasoline notes. Given a few more sniffs it turns into mostly jammy red fruit and a little chocolate vanilla. Huckleberries, strawberries and a little candy.

Medium acidity, light to medium(-) body, lots of fruit, no tannins at all. Medium(-) intensity and a medium finish. Even though there is a rather sugary fruitiness to the wine it tastes surprisingly fresh. This reminds me a lot of Swedish "blåbärssoppa".

Simple and generic, but I rather take this as a drink than the heavy vanilla fruit bombs that came later in the tasting.

*On a side note I'm not even sure if this is the correct wine. Cline website states that there is a separate "2013 California Classics Lodi Zinfandel for SWEDEN (Export only)" and that it is 100% Zinfandel.
Swedish state monopoly has it as a blend with 75% zinfandel, 13% carignan, 6% mourvèdre, 3% barbera and 3% others.

Everything was going along fine on this wine with my drinking partner, until my palate got to the the brettanomyces. Deep rich dark color. To me a funky nose, but everyone else was enthralled. There was plum and sandalwood and baking spice with something savory, but also something weedy, stemmy and briny. There is enough fresh upfront fruit with underlying structure for this wine to merit the acceptance it has. Hate to rain on the parade, but the brett diminished the fruit, brought on a tree sap flavor, ruined the mouth feel, and left me disappointed, alongside some people who loved it.

dark red. Blueberry fruits with a bit of baking spice on the nose. Briary, dark cherry, and vanilla flavors with a dry finish. Not bad for price under $10
