A little thin. But never the less quite nice. Leathery earth spicy with dark fruits. Low tannins. Light body.

This is a stunning wine. Still looking youthful deep red. One a bit closed on opening but on the palate this sings. Beautiful fruit definition, silky tannins and long finish. Balance, poise and class. Best wine I have had this year.

Smooth. Not enough spice/pepper. Very subtle but that makes it an easy drinking wine.

{screwcap, 13%} Bright garnet red colour. Fresh youthful nose; I'll go with Talbot's note here; cherry and pepper, pretty and polished, the palate follows, mixing a lean peppery savouriness with cherry-fresh fruit. Would never be mistaken for pinot, despite the descriptive similarities; it's got a dusty tannic richness, with medium acidity, and a lovely cool mien, helped by nicely old-fashioned alcohol and a medium-bodied weight. Lovely balance into the mid-palate, even if the flavours are a bit simple at the moment; the wine's just a babe for now, and should age very nicely over a decade easily.

Not as good as 1 year ago. Acidity dominates over the fruit, somewhat out of balance. Maybe already past its prime.

Clear, pale, gold with legs.
Clean nose of medium intensity with whiteflower, apricot, white pepper, lemon, fully developed.
The palate is very dry, with medium acid, and low fine tannins (presumably from oak). Medium alcohol (13%), medium body, medium (+) flavour intensity of white pepper, apricot, lemon, and grapefruit pith.
Medium (+) length.

Very Good to Excellent. Excellent typicity, length and balance, and like all Tim Kirk's wines, incredible clean and well made. Perhaps a little restrained due to being a slightly cooler year. Drink now or hold over the next couple of years.
(Screwcap)

Dark ruby with slight bricking at rim. Aromas of charcoal and faint iodine. Definitely showing signs of age. The fruit profile has moved on from fresh blueberries into prunes and dried fig. Still some viognier freshness on the nose and early palate, however the mid palate is very dry. Past its peak, but impressive for a 10 year old entry level wine. If you have any bottles, drink up.

Garnet red. Certainly showing signs of age. Nose of wet gravel and dried fruit, earthy and not particularly appealing actually. Cherry, spice, light cool climate flavours. Long finish. Tasty but feels like I'm a couple of years too late.

Decanted briefly (lots of sediment); two bottles on the same night. This is a good wine, mature and complex, aged cigar, pistachio nut shell, red currant fruit that is slightly dried out. The initial nose has a pineapple/apricot note that I credit to the Viognier. Otherwise it's like a sweeter/riper Barbaresco. To me both bottles presented slightly past peak. Drink now.

Drinking way too you but forced to by my wife wanting a celebratory drink! Glad I have a few more bottles to hide away for a few years. Structurally beautiful wine with lots of complexity that needs to unwind. This could easily be a 95+ wine in a few years.

A wonderful wine. Violets on the nose. Silky and long palate - blackberry, some raspberry, spice, pepper, meats. Lightness of touch but density of flavour. Great.

Blackberry, black pepper initially overwhelm, but more mature flavours are there too, including mushroom, olive, and salty chocolate. Nice supple tannins and a long finish show this wine to be well-crafted and worthy.

Mini Verticals - Tasted Blind: Raspberry, spice, violet and some blackberry. Mild palate, doesn't overdo the fruit power but still has some good weight. Seems well balanced and while it is ticking along nicely, a couple more years will be of benefit.

Screw cap bottle. Decanted and then enjoyed over six hours. After one hour the dominant element was not quite ripe raspberry, also cherry, plum, pepper, florals. Elegant. Super super fine tannin. Perfectly balanced. Hour after hour this built in presence and power and intensity and length, shifting to become more savoury. My final glass smells and tastes wonderfully of meat juices, liquorice, pepper, cigar box, baking spices, sweet core of fruit in the background. Moral of the story is, if you are waiting to drink a bottle of this, it shows as an outstanding wine right now if given a lot of air, but geez I'd be tempted to wait and wait, as this is on the way to becoming something very special.

Decanted 3+ hours. Dusty red currants with noticeable oak spice on the nose. The palate is surprisingly soft with a velvet mouthfeel. Plush red fruits, obvious viognier influence with apricot kernels. Decent length. An enjoyable cool climate shiraz, very much in the Clonakilla style.

91-92.

lovely color, clearly showing that this is a cool climate, medium-bodies wine.
Nose is complex with red berries, spices and floral notes.
Palate one-ups the nose, wow. Lovely rasberry and cherry notes plus more flowers and spices.
Surprisingly accessible at this young age, will surely age in a lovely way.
