Not as acidic as other NZ Sauv Blancs, but still nice and crisp and a little tart. Paired well with grilled scallops.

classic NZ style, but lacking that special character. Not well integrated and shallow palate, lacking in complexity.

Deep and primary on the nose, with plum and black cherry notes, hints of blueberry too, integrated oak. The fruit carries over to the palate, medium to full bodied, black cherry, a touch of sous-bois. Medium acidity, clean finish. At the moment it's all about the fruit but I believe it will improve considerably with a few years spent underground. Hold

Tropical nose of grapefruit zest, melon, gooseberry, and passion fruit, echoed by selfsame flavors in the mouth. There is nice acidity here, although it's masked by a medium-full body and spiciness from the oak. An interesting New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I'm curious how this ages.

Passionfruit, blackcurrent, lemon curd. Insanely good nose, by far the best Sauvignon nose I've ever smelt (my experience limited to NZ SB). The palate delivers too, a delightfully rich wine with subtle (but not absent) acidity, and a touch of wood. I absolutely love this wine. Also the most expensive SB I've ever purchased (NZ$46), so not for everyday drinking, but I think worth every cent.

Mid gold. Not much on the nose. Nicely developed palate with richness balanced by fresh acidity, butterscotch, nectarine. Good length. This has aged well. (90 Good wine)

Good effort in the traditional style, but have seen better New World interpretations. There is some yeastiness and lovely lemon/apple notes, but they don't reach quite the satisfying depth I like, which is a shame given how good Cloudy Bay can be at times. I picked up a preponderance of Pinot on this bottle, but not sure how consistent the cuvees are. Mousse and acidity were definitely well executed. But I don't want my wine to be executed, I want it to express something and that is what is lacking here for me.

Exactly what you think this is. Grapefruit grass cat pee citrus tennis ball. Medium to high acid. The same wine every year. I didn't mean to age this, just forgot about it. Drank over three days. Was best first day. Good wine.

Solid Sauv Blanc as always from Cloudy Bay. Delicious crisp acidity, with flavors of wet stone, lemon peel, and subtle pear.

A straw lemon colour, this wine has a medium -plus savoury smoky nose, laced with saline minerality, and a leesy fermented quality, with some fig and melon notes. Medium _bodied, the acidity is medium, but with a dry saline lemony quality which combined with the 14 percent alcohol gives it a real bite in the mouth. This leads into a finish of ripe stone fruits and just a hint of butterscotch. That smoky nose and the refreshing almost fino_like tang on the palate means this wine will stand up well to assertive, acidic food combos. It is certainly a different take on Chardonnay but maybe a tad over-priced.

Pnp, light straw yellow, med bubbles. Nose of ripe apple and some lemon. Distinctive Pinot aroma in mouth, almost spicy, good balance of acidity and sweetness. A remarkable effort, only if there is more concentration. Value for money.

Careful people: tropical fruit bomb coming your way. Passion fruit, kiwi. This pours darker than its regular Cloudy Bay brother. This has a hint of butter on the backnose. Balanced, rounder thanks to the barrel aging but retaining its glorious NZ Sauv Blanc acidity. What a hit! There's length. This wine has it all.

Typical Sauvignon blanc nose, asparagus aromas. I think it's slightly off dry at the beginning. Then after a while it become dry. Maybe it's just hugely fruity. Medium full body, high acidity.

So everyone we had two bottles of this wine tonight. Same case same storage and one was totally oxidised. Deep colour with sherry tones. However the second bottle was very good. From the fridge the nose was dead but once warmed a bit it was a bit of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. I really liked it but the wife wanted a 2014 NZ Sauvignon Blanc. Women eh. However I think she was right. I have bottles of Cloudy Bay back to 1996. I know, crazy stupid boy, but plan to drink and update as and when.

Screw cap, slight sulphur on nose on first opening, left to clear 10 mins. Elegant now, leaning in feel and flavour towards an unoaked Chardonnay.

Super wine. On opening it was immediately very exrpressive with nice cherry Pinot character. Sweet and ripe with a nice compexity. Maybe lost a little edge over an hour or so and became a little stemmy, but overall this was a very tasty drop.

"New New World" chardonnay. Starts off with generous tropical fruit, which evolves into green, vegetal notes (tulip stalks), which in turn transform into rather elegant oak. Well balanced with good acidity.

I don't know what the people who critized this wine before drank but I find this wine delicous. A lot of grapefruit lemongrass and orange skin has this wine. Although I am not a fan of Cloudy Bay and younger vintages disappointed me, this wine vintage is superb.

Lemon yellow. Medium intensive nose of tropical fruit, citrus fruit and a hint of elderflower. Dry with a medium acidity and body. Not much complexion, in decline.
