Decanted for 2 hours (could have gone more)
Aromas of rich blackberry, black cherry, cassis and plum compote all wrapped in layered scents of vanilla, baking spices of clove and cinnamon. Hints of violets, tobacco, rosemary and eucalyptus are secondary.
On the palate full bodied, weighty and rich with medium-plus velvety tannins and kept structurally intact with medium-plus acidity. Decadent with spiced fruit and vanilla flavors dominating the palate; cassis, plum, vanilla, dark cherry, Chambord, candied violets, clove and baking spices, fig and chocolate. Mid palate density is high with moderate+ alcohol. The finish is long and lasting letting flavors linger on the palate.

Overall a nice heavy cab, with above average texture. another couple years should bring out the spice. Rich!

Showing sediment as slowly poured into decanter. Allowed to decant 1+ hour.
Aromas of spice lead the way; clove, cinnamon and allspice; perfumed scents of violets and vanilla. fruits definitely on the jammy and stewed side with bramble berry, cherry and strawberry and lighter ancillary notes of blue fruits.
The palate is fleshy. Soft, medium yet ripe tannins. Acidity is medium. The fruit seems somewhat more subdued on the palate than I remember, but its still there. stewed fruits of strawberry, bramble berry, cherry and lighter notes of plum, spice leaning on cinnamon, clove and allspice; sage, vanilla, and a strong violet presence. The finish lingers pleasantly.

Overall seems a little more subdued than I remember, laking the intensity on both the nose and palate. Could be shut down or just past its peak. Still a good wine.

A textbook Cypher wine in structure, but even more amped. Enormous nose of deep, dark cherry and cassis, plus oak and vanilla. The palate is at least as massive, oozing with ripe dark fruit, but beautifully balanced by a core of raging, tingling acidity. Tannins are refined and smooth, but dominant. Lots of cherry on the finish, and occasional rushes of chocolate-covered espresso beans. A monster, but a delicious monster with grace and sophistication.

this has character, smoke, cherry pie and liquorish jump out of the glass, I am personally a fan of mourvedre for the aroma and chewy flavor it provides, big and rich with nice acidity to brace, freshly picked blueberries, herbs, twig, black currants, blackberry turnover, ripe black cherries and raspberries fill in on a juicy palate, nice with NY steaks tonight, delivers a sense of Paso Robles for sure, well done

Intense aromas of super-ripe and jammy strawberry, cherry and raspberry with flowers, hibiscus, vanilla', creamy oak and sandalwood with light spice.
A full bodied, high alcohol zin with medium-plus juicy acidity and medium/medium-plus tannins. Flavors are concentrated and reductive, seriously jammy flavors of strawberry jam, raspberry pastilles, hibiscus, dried flowers and creamy oak. Fleshy on the palate, fat and ripe but balanced. The long finish lingers with ripe fruit.

Highly aromatic upon opening, even before I let this decant for over an hour plus.
Aromas present with a clear and ample amount of baking spice, cinnamon and clove with black pepper notes supporting framed by aromas of violets, blueberry, plum compote, blackberry and ancillary aromas of wild sage, cream, and vanilla bean.
On the palate, plush and rich but kept in check with medium/ medium+ acidity. The tannins are fully ripe and velvety smooth across the palate. Flavors of huckleberry, blueberry, baked red plum, cherry cola, vanilla, anise, sage and spice are all put together in their place. The texture of this wine shines through the creamy... full... and fleshy finish.

Overall in a very good drinking window right now. Enjoy now!

Another monster hedonist wine. Tons and tons of baked strawberries, brambleberries, baked cherry pie. HOT. Nothing subtle about the fruit here. Extremely high acid (acidified?) - 15.5% plus perfect alcohol easily. If you're looking for a monster zin this will do the trick for you but lacks finesse.

This is a monster of a wine. Total beast of blue and black fruit, pepper, acid, heat, alcohol. Unbalanced. This wine is a monster. If you are into this sort of thing, probably great.

Decanted
This vintage shows the pretty side of California Tempranillo. Aromas are medium-plus displaying scents of violets and roses, fresh blueberries and huckleberries with ancillary notes of plum and cassis, sandalwood, spice and vanilla.
On the palate medium+ in body with moderate tannins, M/M+ alcohol and M/M+Acidity. Rich fruit flavors of blubbery and huckleberry carry moderate weight through the mid-palate, where flavors of violets and roses add a floral touch while vanilla, cassis, milk chocolate ganache and sarsaparilla are detected through the finish which is moderate in length and intensity.

Overall Enjoyable, approachable, and well put together.

Nice long decant...
Aromas are full and rich with blueberry compote, blackberry pastilles, sarsaparilla and cream soda, with huckleberry, cedar, vanilla, black licorice and hints of spice, violets, rosemary and chocolate.
Mouth-filling and full bodied on the palate, with moderate plus acid and tannin levels, balanced by the big, rich fruit flavors. Blueberry and huckleberry sauce with blackberry and plum fruit flavors are well accented by the black licorice, vanilla cream, sarsaparilla, baking spices, candied violets, cedar wood and dark milk chocolate flavors. The mid-palate density is full with a voluptuous and smooth mouthfeel. The finish is long with medium-plus intensity.

Overall, just entering its prime and should continue to drink well and improve over the next 6-10 years. Definitely a great vintage and varietally correct wine.
