5/1/2021 - techlady Likes this wine: 90 pointsOpened the wine for a salmon dinner with a friend. Still very good, though with a touch more sweetness than I remembered from the winery tasting. Floral and fruit notes were more apparent, more peach and rose than I noticed before. Still very satisfying wine and excellent accompaniment to the salmon. |

7/19/2016 - aidyl Likes this wine: 94 points57% Syrah, 25% Mourvèdre, 9% Grenache, 9% Cinsault. Only took 20 minutes in the decanter for this wine to truly shine. This is the 3rd of the Lescombes Limited Release wines we've tried, and so far this winemaker is a very impressive 3 for 3! Another fantastic blend, with a quality and sophistication we would never have expected from a location that you don't ordinarily associate with fine wine (New Mexico!). |

8/2/2015 - aidyl Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis is a fantastic Cab Franc. Pop and pour, as it didn't need decanting. Slightly lighter-bodied than our typical Cab Franc, this was a rich garnet color with a medium body, no detectable sediment in the bottle. After the first few minutes of air, this wine took on an absolutely phenomenal bouquet of dried pipe tobacco, caramel, and violets. Ripe red berries on the attack, with subtle notes of leather, burnt caramel (crème brûlée) and baking spice on the mid palate and moderate finish. This drank much better than many California wines that cost nearly twice as much. Very highly recommended. The Lescombes family are apparently 6th generation French winemakers, and their expertise is obvious. Check out their Petit Verdot Limited Release, as well! Seriously considering ordering some more... |

7/26/2015 - aidyl Likes this wine: 93 pointsPop and pour. A slightly muted bouquet of dark berries. A fantastically unctuous, velvety mouth-feel without any noticeable heat or astringency. Black cherry compote on the attack, with hints of leather on the mid-palate. Is likely at the tail end of the ideal drinking window, since after an hour or so, it started to take on a noticeably raisiny / port quality. So drink up! Would definitely consider buying the next vintage. Surprisingly good for an "alternative" wine region. |

3/24/2015 - randy80831 Likes this wine: 86 pointsSeemed to be somewhat closed in aroma (although I did not decant the wine). A very slight nose of oak and vanilla. Very fruit forward with a very light tannic structure and a nice refined mouthful and medium finish. Slightly too fruit forward for my tastes, but overall a good to very good wine. |
