Just starting to get into a good place with its plush, rich textures, nose of sweet, black cherry liqueur, thyme, earth and garrigue and lusty finish. This should age for another 10 years or more without any trouble.

PnP; fleshly, fruit forward with big mouthfeel and long finish for a CdP; lacking the complexity and acidity you would expect - but quite good.

Very big, rich, complex with a long finish. Tannins are a bit untamed. Not nearly as satisfactory to my taste than the 2010 and 2012, but good enough.

Very disappointing. Just not much of anything going on with this wine. No nose and no distinct characteristics to say "I'm from ChnP". Even on day two not any better. Not sure what to expect from the rest of these bottles.

Patio Party Summer Solstice June 2015: Really outstanding and a bit of a surprise to me because this isn't a particularly esteemed domaine as far as I know. Hit just the right spot for me with impeccable balance, well delineated fruits (dark and red berries), lively acidity, a distinctive finish of tobacco and herbs, and some complexity afforded by time in bottle.

Second Sunday Group: 2005 Chateauneuf-du-Pape (Barb's): Opens with notes of red and black berry fruit, slightly jammy, but in a good way. Flavors of cherry, blackberry jam and spice. Develops a nice earthy funk in the bouquet and also adds a subtle tapenade quality. Red fruit and pepper with a nice finish. By the end, this had the best nose of the flight. 90+ pts.

My #1, Domino's #2
Group #1, 35 pts

Had it at L'Orée du Bois in Chelsea for the last event of the season for the wine club AVO.

Superb depth, long finish, pure and fresh, black berries, a bit smoky, herbs with soft tannins.

Drinking very well now but could wait 2-3 more years. If you want to drink it now, give it a good 2hours of decanter and your ready to enjoy this great wine.

a solid 91+

Santé !!

Hard to have this after a Dumol Eddie's Patch. That being said, this is delicious. Plum, some hints of crushed rocks. Not too jammy. Pretty finish. Very good CDP

I thought this wine was great, but it definitely could benefit from another year in bottle. I thought the fruit was great, but the wine seemed a bit flabby to me and just didn't fully come together for me. A great effort for the price, but will not change your life.

From memory, this was very good with massive red fruit and a bit of kirsch. A bit of herbs and licorice as well. Still very young, but open and ready to be enjoyed already. However, I will try to keep my last bottle for a while as I do believe this will improve with time.

- Crimsom color and aromas of raspberry, black pepper, oak and tobacco. It's balanced and has flavours of licorice anise and raspberry with a full body. Round texture with a long finish - This was the third bottle we drank of Cigale. It's getting better and better while aging.
Now it's the time to drink this vintage.

Very nice tonight with good depth to its stone fruit and tropical fruit flavors. There's a firm minerality and some nutmeg notes floating through the background along with enough acidity at its core to keep the roundish mouthfeel from being flabby. Very well done for this price point.

Wijnkoperij Okhuysen Annual Tasting (Okhuysen, Haarlem, Netherlands): Altogether a more ambitious wine than the regular 2011 tasted just before, in which the weight and density of the sweet, liquorous fruit is balanced by lovely freshness and ripe tannins. Cracking CdP.

Oh yeah. Had this with an Italian wine expert (and I mean an Italian person that is also in the wine business and an expert cook for good measure). All four of us really liked this, showing very very well. I am upgrading this to 92-93 superb CDP Blanc. Very floral expressive and complex nose, nice palette.

As I noticed before, and proved again, this wine is VERY sensitive to temperature. Chill it well in the fridge, it will only open when it increases to a certain very narrow temperature range in the glass. Above or below it will be closed. You may take the bottle out and put back in the fridge several times, or keep it cool in water. But once you find that temperature - wow.

These white CDP are very finicky but I see now why Parker likes them. They are IMHO the finest expression of wine-making art.

For me the best wine I've tasted at the Ockhuysen tasting. Powerful and also light on his feet, lots of black fruit in the nose and the taste, perfect tannins, and a balanced aftertaste. Needs some years in the cellar, but no punishment today.

A fantastic CdP with the pre-requisite kirsh, ripe fruit from 2007 and the garrigue plus touch of gaminess which adds to the overall experience. Should age quite and improve.

Notes from memory, like with all of my reviews so far today. I mention it here because my memory is more vague than usual with this wine.

Very mineral for a CdP, sculpted like a Grosses Gewachs dry white Riesling. Quite a bit of depth. Candied and red. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Could not be more different from the wild and woolly 2007 which was preferable for me. It's classy but left me with a "What is this supposed to be?" feeling. Very clean and crystalline, without much flavor. Kevincrouch says "austere" and that is correct; not your typical S. Rhone!

A very good CDP: its bouquet was broad and intense (tart cherry, black currant, wild berries, violet, cocoa, wet soil, leather, sweet tobacco, rosemary, vanilla, licorice, black pepper, forest floor and a barnyard note) and its mouthfeel was very pleasant, combining fruity and spicy flavors with a smooth, balanced sip, medium acidity, well integrated alcohol and supple tannins. Medium finish. In my view the wine was mature (meaning at or near peak conditions): I would not wait much longer before enjoying it.

Ruby core with minimal fading. Classic aromatics of bark, garrigue, and raspberry fruit. Medium to full bodied, the fruit is there in balance with tobacco leaf and licorice, long tannic finish. I have a much stronger sense of how good this is compared to a bottle I had several months ago. Its tannic structure will serve it well for years, but this is not too brutal to enjoy now. Wonderfully savory and not in the least overripe.

Nose is sweet, syrupy, fruity, overripe, Californian. Palette is same. Fruit juice, honey, white grapes. No minerality or complexity. Not enough acidity to balance the fruit. This was a disappointment since it's not what we look for in French whites or white wine in general. At $15 it would be fine but at $35 or so it is not worth it. D.

65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% something else that she said too fast for me to catch. Nose of wet wool; palate of blackberry. Juicy. Very subtle tannins. Just a wee tad hint of pepper. I could hang out with this one.
