A rich white. Subtle stone fruit characteristics and a prominent oak finish that still somehow doesn't overwhelm. As something unique, this was a fun wine with grilled salmon. Quite enjoyable.

I had the 2007 of this wine 3 weeks ago which was an unbalanced and over oaked let down. 2008 was somewhat better but still not worthy. Earthy aromatics smell soapy. The taste is very much smucker cherry so ripe that any floral aromatics of Pinot is suppressed. Even knowing it is not the premier cru of Nuits St George, this wine is still so in need of any hint of character. 1 hour in the glass, the nose and finish is all vanished, just like Domaine Serene is gone from my shopping list.

not as integrated as the 2008 varietals we have had this evening but pretty darn good and worth a point or 2 more if you can keep your hands off for a year or two

Color: Ruby
Nose: Red and dark fruit, caramel, vanilla and dried flowers
Palate: Medium bodied structured balance, richness and supple acidity and soft tannins
Finish: Excellent supple and lingering finish
Decanting: PNP
Thoughts: We would have to agree with RoyBivens assessment, that the 2008 is slightly better than the 2010 because it kept getting better. We are glad we are wine club members and always get a consistent supply. Looking forward to see how the 2012 Evenstad Reserve compares.

Wonderful even on day 3 against strong food. Great color, moderate body. Enough fruit to balance the high alcohol. Touches of chocolate and leather. Not cheap, but worth it.

Pours a very dark purple. On first opening, nose of baking chocolate and coffee; with time, adds a tart fruit (cranberry or sour cherry). Palate is very rich--dark berries and chocolate. Finish is long.

Very nice bottle--could continue to age for another 5-10 years.

An Evening at the Grillmaster's House: mature oregon pinot. the education continues! earthy but also quite brawny. Cola, hints of vanilla and black fruit. mid has a touch of balsamic note, deeply savory, rich fruit, a hint of warmth at the back. finish is ripe, rustic, with hint of tartness and spice.

Little to add to previous notes. Elegant Oregon Pinot Noir. This vintage of ER is the opposite of a typical California Pinot. All nuance.

This was a wine of contrasts; rich and elegant with a seductive bouquet of ripe black cherry, currant, cola and sweet herbs. It turned to earthiness over time, with dark soil, herbal tones, and a hedonistic whiff of brown sugar. On the palate, I found smooth silky textures, verging on velvet yet remaining balanced throughout, with rich dark fruits, licorice, black cherry, plum and sweet herbs. The finish was long and sappy at first, yet turning fresh with concentrated ripe raspberry fruit and lingering long. (93 points)

Used a venturi on this and it opened it up quite a bit. Good balance and ripe fruit starting to see some more complexity. I would drink these now to the next 24 months.

Good floral notes on the nose. Fairly light on its feet as it hits the pallet. Gain weight as it aerated. Medium length finish.

I always have my hopes up when opening Pinot Noir. Plenty of sour cherry fruit and smoother than the last bottle. Time has calmed this wine but has not added any of the exotic allure that can make Pinot Noir so exceptional. At this point I have to assume that it is not going to happen for this vintage. Very good but not a dream catcher. No sign of the cork problem experienced by others.

Very solid Oregon PN. Dark fruits with medium body. Quite enjoyable. I too experienced cork breakage...actually cork disintegration, even with properly stored bottle since purchase at the winery at its time of release. Initial frustration with the bottle of wine quickly turned into a love affair!

This is not the Oregon I know and love. Strong and cherry and vanilla and some wood. Beautiful color though. Thinning out by now. Some heat. I did enjoy this and feel it was well made and would buy again, but don't expect a restrained burgundian pinot.

This wine was pleasant enough. There just wasn't a lot going on there. Very little on the nose or palate. Maybe, I should have held it for longer.

Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for one hour. Nose of cherry, plum and spice. Red cherry, forest floor and fine tannins on the palate. Leads to a medium to long, soft, dry finish. Medium bodied. Paired with dry rubbed, barbecued chicken.
