TTTG Blind Pinot: I was shocked when this was revealed and it reaffirms the value of blind tasting. Oak-infused vodka with a bit of offensively-ripe red fruit. I have no idea if this was a representative bottle, but if it is, I cannot understand the other tasting notes.

This wine has an amazing nose, fruity and complex. However, upon tasting was disappointed. Fell a little flat with a pleasant but uninteresting simplicity. It's very drinkable, not bad in any respect, but not exceptional. I will probably hold on to the bottles and try again next year, but I don't have high hopes for this to mature and turn into something great.

CT blind tasting group does new and old world Pinot (Brian's): On the first sip this was a blast of dense, overripe, roasted red fruit, and I said then that I didn't like it but at least didn't find it hideously offensive, as I might find a modern Rolland Bordeaux or a SQN. I recant those statements, having given this a bit more air. Fifteen minutes later: the same roasted, overripe red fruit, but now overwhelmed by toasty oak, more oak, and a note of VA. Downright awful.

A solid pinot, but expected more. Lacks the definition and finesse of Willamette. Gobs of fruit without the truffle or mousse. No real terroir. Opens on the nose with violet, cherry, and rhubarb. Almost sweet taste with medium body and a slight oaky finish. I'd rather spend more and grab an Evenstad.

Great! Surprisingly big for a Pinot which is exactly what I like. Long long mid palate.

Translucent red with a fading rim of pink. Nose of ripe red fruits- raspberry, cherry, and strawberry, with some oak spice. Palate all those red fruits, with raspberry up front and striking acidity. Tannins and oak are well integrated- this is very much like a well-done Burgundy!

Good pinot noir - medium on acidity and tannins - lots of sunny fruit - and a well integrated wine - good aftertaste - this is a very dark and in some ways heavy pinot noir and very typically from Californien

Dark in color, texture was rich with lots of depth mid-palate. Great fruit on the front with baking spices and earth on the long finish. Blind tasted against 2 other good 2012 Pinots. This was the unanimous winner.

PnP in the glass and served at 60 degrees

Full aroma of cherry, bramble and undertones of earth with hints if mineral. On the palate the wine is smooth with a tannin edge. Still a little closed and needs time in the decanter I think.

Medium to full body with good acids and a strong tannin backbone.

Very pretty and bright pinot with lighter silky texture. Juicy cherry and strawberry fruit on nose and palate. Good acidity to keep fresh on the medium finish. Very balanced and integrated. Missing complexity or would have deserved higher score.

Pulled from a 55 degree cellar, where it has resided since late 2008; decanted to allow the sediment to settle. A wonderful, mature, well balanced, and complex Pinot Noir which has peaked. As expected from a nearly decade old wine, slight signs of bricking with a medium plus body. Fruit is still in the forefront but is much more muted and layered than I remember from four years ago. There is still acidity; however, much less than I remember. Definitely complex and balanced, but I expect this wine will start (if it hasn't already) the long process of decline. Still displays a solid finish. Time to start thinking about drinking up over the next 12-18 months.

NV Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Rosè - lovely floral and citrus notes on the nose, though some wood is coming through on the nose. Initially bright with citrus, mellowing out into tropical and stone fruits, especially mangoes and nectarines.

Not bad. But not overly distinctive. Middle of the road. Doesn't have the character that many Oregon Pinots possess.

Seems to be in its peak drinking window now. Red fruit oriented, it's structure is now moving to the background and secondary characteristics are developing. Drinking well now.

Trying again last night to wrap my head around this wine. I just don't get it.

Could not get past the bubble gum, cherry vanilla flavors and aromas. Seemed more like a GSM in American wood than a pinot from one of the coldest vintages in WV ever. (Meiomi?)

Pale golden

Minerally nose of talc, white flowers. honey, maybe vanilla

Stone fruit, mineral, honey, clean, crisp with some weight
If I had tasted blind I would have said White burg, prolly better quality Macon or Pouilly Fuisse (and in fact, I will open a bottle of 2009 Verget Pouilly right now to test this theory)
Nice bottle, I forget what I paid for it but guessing around $35? Nice house white if Burg is your thing.

Decanted thru aerator and then poured. A little woody on the nose and a touch bitter on the mouth and again on the finish. Good, but needs more time to integrate those tannins.

Nice PN. Nose of dried cherry with a touch of hay and minerality. Flavors of dried cherry and fresh plum. Well integrated tannins. Long finish. Rather young. Open next bottles round early 2017.
