Just a touch of deepening on the colour. Nose of vanilla and fruit chew. in the mouth this has some weight and viscosity, the citric entry quickly gives way to a buttery vanilla then the acid comes back to support some sweet pineapple fruit and finally some bitterness from the oak. Medium - finish. Not linear, pure or mineralic. Very pleasing.

Bright and crisp with med depth and minerality. Seems to have a lot of potential, but it needs to flesh out abit. Tonight it was fairly lean and austere. Still, quite nice.

Revisited at about 3 hours and this really opened beautifully.

Not as steely as I prefer my Grand Cru Chablis. Softer and showing age. A nice ending to our week and a half long visit with my son.

Rockstar juice. Crisp pear and yellow apple, saline, seashell, acid, stone. Powerful and youthful. This maintained its structure and balance over two days without missing a beat. Impressive. Very un-'06. Recommended.

This was very nice, and much better than the '11 Fevre Preuses Grand Cru that I had last week in Chianti. Begins with a hint of reduction/match stick that eventually blows off. The palate is big, typical Fevre assertiveness, with lots of bright white and clear fruits, lots of citrus and a rather strong bitter fennel note. Lots of energy. This is especially good for the vintage, but I would drink it young.

I drank a glass over a couple hours. Honeydew melon, lime, some rather distinctive fruit and a nice purity of fruit. Aside from that, not that enjoyable at this stage, and completely outclassed tonight by the other chardonnay. I would hold these for a while. Score reserved, I would score it 89 tonight.

Great combination of fruit, chalk, minerality and oak on both nose and palate. Great finish which makes it a very good wine.

Worldwide World Class Chards (Edina, MN): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 3 hours. There is a very nice minerality to this, oyster shells, ocean breezes, etc, very subtle brioche, lemon emerges later. The palate has lemon, good purity, fine minerality, lime, elegant, and it develops depth and length as it evolves in glass over an hour plus. Seems young, and probably shut down at this point. As is, about 92pts , with expectation for much more down the road.

Very good balanced example of Les Clos. Great power of fruit, mineralt, and acidity. No signs of pre-mox. This bottle is young and could have gone longer in a good cellar. Impressed by this bottle!

Yet Another 60th Birthday Dinner (The Hills of Northern California): Medium yellow. Some ripe citrus juxtaposed against even more oyster shell and brothy notes. Rich but very well constituted with a convincing Chablis finish of firm acidity and minerality. From both of my experiences with this wine, I think Fevre hit a home run with this cuvee, which outpaces both the Dauvissat and Raveneau Clos in this weird, overly exotic vintage. None of those excesses could be found in this bottle.

Subtle lean sherry butterscotch scotch pear petrol nose. White and yellow stone fruit, tart lychee, crisp pear, citrus, saline, mineral, an oxidative note on the palate. Just an all around hint of pox that is mildly distracting, more apparent as the wine warmed. Decanted, less oxidative with time. Enjoyable with a good chill but some complexity is lost. Last of three bottles. Drink up if these bottles are in fact representative.

Providence: Always difficult directly following Champagne, this was still somewhat tight and youthful. It opened up to show crushed rocks, limestone minerality, white peach and lemon skin; very mineral, with vibrant acidity, very intense with a medium to medium plus body--not a rich creamy or honied GC as some chablis tend to evolve to over time; it was noted it had a subtle hint of vanilla/lemon curd showing slight oak treatment. Wonderful with the sashimi red tuna with subtle spices and a light cream underneath. Still could be put away for another 3-5 years or more. Just give it lots of time to open up if opening now.

Very disappointing. Nothing "grand cru" about this at all. Drinks like an ordinary $20 Chablis. Light pear fruit, not much definition, not much character. At Fietri, Gaiole in Chianti, with Greg.

5th bottle from the case and finally this wine has matched my prior expectation of it. The hint of caramel in the bouquet was beguiling. No hint of premox which had spoilt 2 of the previous 4 bottles. Here's hoping the remainder match this standard, as this tasting suggests the wine could develop its character further over the next 12 months.

Coravin 6/20/15: Medium golden color, lighter than I recall; nose has creamy rounded fruit, salinity, some pear, some tropical pineapple; palate is full bodied, excellent balanced acidity, lemon-lime, no oxidation at all (even less than my last bottle), pleasing balance with good concentration of fruit at the forefront and good acidity that kicks in at the midpalate; finish is medium length. Lacks a bit of the complexity of a stellar wine, but this is drinking very well now, great balance, excellent food wine, and no premox at all. 92+ with many years ahead based on this bottle.
