12/23/2013 - zoom34 Likes this wine: 91 pointsA great surprise. Nose of cherries, raisin and red fruits followed by dry raisins, tart cherries and licorice. A nice long finish ensues. Not sure where I bought the wine and not sold anywhere it seems. But a nice find and very good value I believe. |

11/2/2013 - Tim Heaton Likes this wine: NRPnP (mistake, but couldn't be helped), served non-blind. A very pretty, well-structured wine and one that stands in the face of the idea that '02 was crap across the board in this and surrounding regions. No flaws, not even any shortcomings. With each successive glass better than the one before it, this has another 4-5 years of pleasurable drinking ahead of it. The 15% abv is fully integrated, the finish, long and satisfying. highly recommended |

Great clarity and depth without heaviness. Some meaty and chocolate notes as well. More perfume with air time, violets and anise. At peak now, with a great midpalate presence and finish. Syrah is at the front now with the wood well integrated at this point. Well made with great balance. |

Rather austere and flat taste with prominent tannins initially. This wine is dominated by the mineral/graphite flavour profile, with the fairly sharp, jarring tannins. not a great wine for with food, and perhaps past its prime - if it had any fruit it seems to have faded. |

2/25/2009 - Combee1 wrote: 90 pointsTasted this wine twice on a recent cruise. Paired incredibly well with surf and turf. 90% Grenache blend. Beautiful bright purple/pink color in glass. Nice nose of brambly fruit and earth. Medium-bodied with nice silky mouthfeel. Beautiful balance of fruit and acidity with soft dusting tannins on the back end. Great food wine. I prefer this style of Grenache over the over-extracted "burnt" wines coming out of Spain and Australia right now. (A-/B+). |
