Rich and lush with lots of substance and depth. Already very tasty, I'm certain nuance will easily emerge. |

Reductive so tough to assess, but this is on the leaner side with less depth than typical. Very good length. |

3/29/2024 - UTPK wrote: NRThis might have been an a slightly off bottle. I thought I sensed a bit of overmature fruit and a slight vinegar smell. The cork looked great but somehow I wasn’t captivated by the nose. There was something slightly dirty and funky about it. Other tasters thought it was a very good wine. |

3/1/2024 - Burgundy Al wrote: NRLa Paulée de Los Angeles - The Verticals (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Walkaround vertical tasting. Faintly reductive. Complex array of red and black cherries and berries, but still firm structure making this barely forthcoming. Spice and whole cluster character is somewhere between very charming and too pronounced. Overall, also tough to fully assess right now but there is so much great stuff here, I am excited about where this will emerge 2030 forward. |

3/1/2024 - Burgundy Al wrote: NRLa Paulée de Los Angeles - The Verticals (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Walkaround vertical tasting. Lots here, extremely lush, while firmly backward, this is a very powerful wine that shows the 2016 vintage well. Again, I struggled with an overall assessment, but like where there is heading a lot. |

Palate didn't quite follow through, lots here, but not quite harmonious, which is unusual for the vintage. I was slightly perplexed and was hoping to revisit, but time did not permit. Lots here, patience required is my general assessment. |

Ripe and lush, this showcasing a broad array of red and black fruits with savory spice and an intense power. Very good in every dimension, just slightly backward for now, brilliant potential from 2029 forward, 95-96 point potential. |

Lean styled, nicely approachable and flavorful, more red than black cherry, but with lots of fruit and spice nuance. Finessed with very good length, good enough weight and density. |

3/6/2024 - Burgnick Likes this wine: 94 pointsDouble decanted before serving. Incredible aromatics with flowers, red fruit, stems, violets, and perfume. On the palate, it was dense with good purity and transparency. Possibly one of the wine of the vintage. It is one of the very few 2011 that has aging potential. 94+ |

Dark red and black fruit, excellent acidity, rich chocolate tannin, endless reserves of structure, and an appropriately dry finish. Quintessentially elegant, gorgeously harmonious Grand Cru. Fantastic and it should have a 30+ year life span from here. Another moving wine. |

Light red fruit, a little spice, gentle soil, and very refined tannins. Excellent and very fine in an ethereal light style. The question over time will be "Too light?" to be definitively outstanding wine. |

Bright, lively, supple red/black fruit, great acidity, fine soil throughout, less noticeable char than the earlier vintages. Fine, earthy tannins. The epitome of fragrant, elegant Grand Cru wine. Completely seductive and again, outstanding. |

3/1/2024 - drwine2001 wrote: NRWines Tasted at the La Paulée Verticals Session (The Maybourne, Beverly Hills): Slightly deeper color than the 2015. Much less stemminess in the aromas. Medium weight with an exhilarating, enveloping feel. Sweet, ripe red and blue fruit, a light touch of wood, light char (less than the 2015), terrific acidity, and here, an uplifting dollop of green from the whole cluster. Incredible balance, texture, and finish. Absolutely superb wine that is already exciting. Unlimited potential development over the next 15-20 years. This is a strikingly finer, lighter style than Clos de Tart wines from the late 1990's and early 2000's. |

3/1/2024 - drwine2001 wrote: NRWines Tasted at the La Paulée Verticals Session (The Maybourne, Beverly Hills): Pale ruby. Obviously stemmy. Lovely lighter weight. Subtly sweet red and blue fruit, significant char, excellent acidity and soil, moderate drying tannins. At least very good, but I think that the whole cluster treatment is overdone in this wine compared to the more judicious handling of the 2 subsequent vintages. Needs a lot of time in any case. |
