The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like prune and plum. It tastes like black pepper and black chocolate. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

87-88. These need time. Pure fruit though quite tight and one dimensional even after quite a bit of air. I would have thought new world if tasting blind. Going to probably hold until 2018 unless I see some very persuasive notes otherwise.

An easy wine, not very complex just right up the pike dusty syrah. Red/purple fruit, tannins present but relaxed. Ready now.

Decanted for 90 minutes. This wine is still pretty tight. It opened up after a few hours in the glass. There was red fruit on the palate with a medium finish. I will wait another 2 years for the next bottle.

Purchased in 2010 and cellared for 4+ years. Dark opaque red, aromas of stewed plums, dark chocolate, a touch of spice, and wet earth. Very powerful, intense aromas but not complex or attractive. Good acidity and balance, but a bit dirty with flavors of black fruits, dirt, and damp wine cellar. Finishes clean and dry. Really doesn't have much Syrah character. Drink now.

Modern and exciting style, dark and brooding. Assertive nose (cinnamon and dark fruit), palate is very round, with smooth tannins and slight minerality, medium simple finish with hint on honey walnut.

I decanted this for 2 hours and consumed over 4 more. It got a little better as the night went on but it never came togeter. I am not sure if I drank this in a bad phase, but I never got excited about this wine. It's not bad, but it never captured my attention.

smells well northern rhone syrah, not earthy but more like a grill brick with under tones of subtle red fruit and dried potpourri, the palate has a gorgeous texture, plums, very one dimensional but not in a bad way hint of raspberry

Conc: Solid lovely drinking at its peak I think now

Perhaps not in a great spot, but promising in terms of floral notes and minerality. Just currently a bit too thin for me, hoping it flushes out some.

Now here is what a Syrah should be. Fresh crushed flowers, charred bacon fat, touch of graphite, balsamic finish over a sweet, raw fig and biting bitter fruit pit young Crozes finish. This is disarmingly good. Wish I had more. Lots of savory and green tomato aromas come later on the accumulative finish. Very good.

Barely earns the 'I like it' label -- perhaps just a bit young. Nice, pure, focused fruit, but not a lot going on yet. Very dark. A bit closed on the nose.

Solid, good food wine. Syrah at 12.5%, what a pleasant change. Served against a grilled sirloin, and that was nice. Nice minerality in the core, purple fruit. Finish was a bit short, but a pleasant wine and drinking well now.

Enjoyed on the first night after a two hour decant. Nice rich blue fruit (not overdone) and spice on the palate. Put back in bottle and vacu-vined for the next night. Not sure what happened, but the wine fell apart on night two. I am not sure why my experience was different from other reviews that said the wine was much better on night two. I might have just been unlucky.

Dark and Tannic, there is some fruit hidden behind the wall, but I dont know if it will survive the tannic wall, very dark

Day 2:Now its opened up into old world syrah, dried olives mixed with leather, pepper, dash of extra dark molasses hint of raspberry

Dark fruit and minerals. No oak or alcohol to speak of. Tannins and acidity in perfect balance. Major accomplishment at this price point. Really impressed.

This wine is young. I opened the bottle on 9/11, but stopped drinking because after 4 hours the wine was still pretty closed. It was much better on the second night. The nose had opened up a bit, and there was good blue fruit on the palate. I will probably wait another few years before I try my next bottle.

Medium purple color. Dark fruits and a touch of smoke on the nose. Juicy black plums on the palate with medium acid and tannins. A tasty and enjoyable wine but nothing really special in terms of complexity. I also do not see this wine getting any better so I would drink up if you are holding any.

The colour is somewhere between straw and gold. The nose has medium intensity and is dominated by interesting spicy and autolytic elements. On the palate its full-bodied and intense w. low acidity and a long finish. Biscuit, toast, caramel, hazelnut, perhaps liquorice. Not a hint of fruit! Alcohol might be a bit high and the ripeness is almost too much, but very complex and interesting.

Ruby - purple. Nose is black pepper, some meat. Nice initial syrah attack but a bit thin. Dusty, dried cherries, tart acidity. Longish tart finish. Day 3 update: markedly smoother and sweeter, tartness diminished and balance much better. Hold for a while.
