Another great bottle continuing to improve as it got more air. Didn't write notes at the time so no specifics, but it was really beautiful.

I don't drink much CdP these days, but this was really nice.

Plum and garrigue on the nose and palate. Light/medium body, good acidity. A very pleasant wine, no heat, no prune. An earthy undertone provides complexity and interest.

Has a nice freshness that is lacking from the "better" vintages.

CdP dinner. 9 people, 6 CdPs. 2000 and 2006 Beaucastel, 1998 and 2006 Vieux Telegraphe, 2001 Janasse Vielles Vignes and 2007 Xavier Anonyme. All Opened and than sat for at least 30 minutes before pouring. All tasted blind.

This was the WOTN, It drank great alone and with the dinner. I think it has years of life ahead of it, although drinking great now. I didn't pick up the "sushi seaweed wrapper" that WA mentions, but lots of black cherry and raspberry fruit on both the nose and taste. Good long finish.

First bottle was corked (good that I checked, more frequent with older Rhones), Had this in mind so I went back to the cellar for redemption... decanted for 30 minutes drank over 2 hours. Served this with my pork and butternut squash stew. Great pairing for Fall/Harvest flavors.

Full and vibrant/translucent red color, showing less signs of age than expected, slight bricking at the edges. Coming off a corked bottle I knew this one was in the zone, great aromas of spice and red fruits on the decant, followed by Provencal herbs, orange zest, iodine and forest floor. Palate was classic CdP (perfect for a "harvest" dinner). Palate of dusted cherry fruits, plums, pepper, baking spices, cinnamon, figs, classic garrigue, leather. This was really in the zone, great structure and what you want from a great CdP. Medium mouthfeel and long, layered finish.

Drinking really well now, with good structure to last another 10 years. . Should hold at this level - high incidence of corked bottles notwithstanding - but I don't think it will improve much. Wonderful wine

- Garnet color with slow forming legs and aromas of tea, licorice anise, fig and tobacco. It's balanced and has flavours of blackberry, fig, raisin and black pepper with a full body. Leathery texture with a long finish - Decanted 4 hours. Graphite, pencil shaving nose. Drinking well now, should have several years left.

First of six bottles this had touch of VA jst taking the edge off the usual VT clarity. Pale, slightly browning. Seemed slightly more advanced than expected. Not exactly faulty but I'll try another bottle soon and hope for more.

I used to not like Grenache, and I'm being sucked into it. I love the dusty minerals, raspberry, and floral highlights. I'm pacing myself to not open the next two.

Definitely fruit forward and the heat of the vintage is there.
Needs a few more years to bring out more complexity and secondary flavors. Missing that traditional CdP that I love, but a very nice bottle of wine.

This needs time, either in the cellar or the decanter. Opened, decanted and had a glass last night. It was clear by the texture and structure that the wine was very high quality, but it was not giving much pleasure. Rinsed the bottle and poured the remainder back in. Much better tonight: raspberry, kirsch and soy sauce, with creosote in the finish. What sets it apart, again, is the texture and structure. I only have a couple more bottles and will exercise patience. I think another five years from now and this wine will sing.

This one has hung in there. Still big, fruity, creamy, complex and a long finish. Full and round in the mouth but it slid down the throat oh so nicely. Gone before we knew it. C'est dommage.

Great bottle. Had this together with a 1998 Pegau (the latter being my personal favourite). Great nose which did not indicate a very mature wine. Very vibrant and fruity nose. Beautiful colour. Medium bodied on the palate, with figs and leather notes. Quite long lasting on the palate. Outstanding balance. Accompanied woodpigeons very well.

Deep garnet, nose of licorice, pepper, sweet candy berries. Smooth on palate, some chocolate, smoky spice with tannin that grip your teeth. Some bitterness to the finish. I am not fans of CdP, prefer Hermitge more.

Actually, there is no point in trying to describe this wine or the pleasure of drinking it. Greater wordsmiths than I have praised this wine. 96 points...... 97 points..... a reviewer in a bad mood might give it 94. What is the difference. If you can afford it and you find it, BUY THIS WINE.

Fully developed and time to consume. Lovely with a white bean and lamb stew. Added a splash of 2014 Languedoc rose and it was far nicer. Conclusion is that I waited too long, still it was lovely unsullied but I am looking at my 2001 to 2005's.

From magnum this bottle showed all the elegance of a cooler but ripe year. A hint of raspberry and olive on the nose, but it was the sweetly rounded palate that really impressed.

A nice garnet coloring when poured without any hints of bricking around the rim. A soft nose with lots of cherry aroma. Flavors included the cherry, white pepper, a hint of leather and some chocolate. The tannins have faded considerably but the wine has plenty of backbone but very smooth across the tongue. Close to being fully mature but there is no need to drink up right away.
