Delivered today. Curiosity got the better of me. The nose is a wonderfully dark and balanced mix of cab fruit and oak. Initially, the palate doesn't achieve the same balance with the oak and an astringent bitterness walking on the fruit. Later, the palate becomes more integrated and smooth, but a bit rough on the finish. Obviously, I did everything wrong with this bottle, so I've withheld a score. I'll (attempt to) save the second half of this bottle for tomorrow to see if it settles down at all. Not a bad wine, probably in the 88-90 pt category, assuming one likes the general oak forward style. Should improve in the cellar for at least 5 years.
