Decanted for an hour at the restaurant and consumed with NY steak and duck. Butterscotch notes are still there, but not as pronounced. A wonderful medium body blend from WA.

Young but shows tremendous promise. Fruit forward with generous oak on the nose, vanilla/coconut and dark fruits, some menthol. Very balanced with smooth tannins even at this age. Gonna get better, great QPR.

Wow. Such a delicious wine. All the notes have people tasting in 2008 and 2010. Try tasting it now in 2015. It is so amazing. I wish I could share it with you all but know if you find one, you will be amazed. So smooth and has a lot of fruit. Well balanced and not high alcohol. This is my style 100%

No idea where this will head. SO BIG and OAKY. Gonna wait for at least 3 years to see where it lands. My instinct is that it will be terrific down the road a good ways.

Popped, drank over four hours. Tasting note written with final (3rd) glass. Dark red/purple. Sweet vanilla, black fruits and clove on the nose. Clearly a strong young wine, but with a soft and smooth palate texture which makes it very approachable. Boysenberry, prevalent oak (American?), but not overpowering. A great effort, good value for $23 (Costco). Very good now, with definite potential to improve over 3-4 years. This would be a good case buy. Try again in 2017.

The magnum size seems to have preserved the freshness and vitality of this wine. Acid was still present and so was the ripe black fruit. Terrific mouthful and a long finish of blackberries and some spice. Went very well with hot pepper chicken. Sadly the last bottle.

Upon opening - clearly a special New World Red. Its slightly overwrought and unruly, but everything is in place to take this to the next level with age (or air). Very expressive nose of smokey dark fruit and a little oak and graphite. The palatte is inky and deeply concentrated showcasing black and blue fruit with bramly and slmokey character. The opulent texture excorts a very powerfull, tanic, vanilla laden lengthy finish. Currently a 94 (9-18-9-8). Lets see how evolves with couple hours of air...

Well, it did not dissapoint! The nose softened a bit with a light addition of earthiness and red fruit to support the smokey dark fruit. The palette has settled down immensely and added compexity to the concentration. While three hours in a decanter brought it into a higher level of focus, some bottle rest will do this wonders.

Dark garnet colored, medium bodied, bright vibrant black raspberry and black cherry fruit flavors accented with a subtle layer of cedar and hints of eucalyptus, turning to tones of tar, black tea and hints of leather and spice on the smooth soft modest tannin finish.

A little bit better than 11-24-15 entry. A bit of age softened any atringency and the Cab in the blend comes out nicely. Not sure whether we would buy any more, even at the $16.49 sale price, but its not bad. Just thinking there can be better choices at the price point (Columbia Crest H3 series wines?)

Drinking very nicely, even now, with medium fruit, soft tannins and good body in what I have always considered a 'lighter' wine.....

Fairly layered wine for the price. Nose of dark black and red fruits with hints of vanilla, chocolate and graphite. Palate initially smooth with dense dark fruits up front that quickly transitions to pencil shavings/graphite starting on the mid-palate. Tannins are soft and integrated, but the wine seems to spike a bit on the finish on the back of the palate. Finish is decently long, again highlighting the graphite/pencil shavings with dark fruit accents.

A fair amount going on in this wine. Drinks almost like a right bank bordeaux but with classic Washington state pencil shaving notes. The alcoholic spike on the finish bothers me slightly, perhaps due to the softened tanins, and persisted despite being open for 3+ hours. Enough going on though at this price point though to satisfy wine nerds and drinkers alike.

We always enjoy Dunham Cellars wines and this one is no different. Features a savory, terrior driven style with notes of graphite and black licorice. I would have guessed there was a larger percentage of Syrah in this blend but it is only 2%. Predominantly Merlot and Cab Sauv. So much more interesting than most Napa cabs you would find at this price point (around $35). I plan to pick up a few more bottles of this gem before it disappears.

Lots of Chardonnay oak on the nose. Or hazelnut. And then lots of cream on the mid palate as well. A bit discombopulated for all of that.
