Too acidic, I would wait a year for it to mellow out.

Tasted this wine just a couple of weeks ago at the tasting room. Fell in love with it then, loved it again last night! It is just a sumptuously gorgeous blend of all the flavors I love in a wine. It was darker in the glass than I remembered it being at the tasting room. Maybe that was due to the brilliant light from the setting sun in Kauai. It was essentially PnP. (Took it to the restaurant early so they could decant it. Fortunately they had not yet done so because when our server brought the decanter to the table, the bottom of the inside of the decanter was covered with dishwasher soap scum! Poor form!) The nose was intoxicating with bright red and blue fruits. We let it sit in our glasses for about 30 minutes before tasting it. On the palette we got the same red and blue fruits, but with a lot of depth and balance. The mouthfeel was lush and the finish was long. This is a gorgeous wine! Must get more!! Side note: The previous night's wine was a 2004 Joseph Phelps "Insignia." Sorry, but this wine easily outshone the Phelps.

A two hour decant didn't tame the rambunctious assertiveness of this bottle. Impenetrable deep purple, matched by a powerpunch of chewy tannins and alcoholic heat. Drank without food. Could not finish the glass. Hoping time works some magic with remaining bottles.

Excellent fruity wine. We opened about 3 hours prior to consumption and did not aerate or decant - wine was great.

Very good for a very ripe wine. Does not come across as hot. While I think this is good for the style, it is ultimately too tiring to drink very much.

COLOR: Purplish-Garnet with medium-Garnet rim
NOTE: Little heat up front, lots of blackberry liqueur, sweet & rich, with equal amounts of baking spices and vanilla. Good berry pie. Mouth is medium+, full of raspberry liqueur, tar and leather. Finish maintains the red spectrum fruits, was a bit overly acidic this go around, but still quite pleasurable.

COLOR: deep Garnet to rim
NOTE: No heat anywhere. Just lovely black/blue berry pie, loads of baking spices. Mouth is heavy, rich and robust with blackberry liqueur, tar, cinnamon and dark cocoa. Big, ripe tannins clamp down on the finish so this still needs time perhaps,. It could out-pace the 2008 in a couple of years.

Would agree with Mr. Medoes to some respect. This is still young and the tannins were very apparent. However, there's a depth of fruit and a mouthfeel here that speaks to a very well made wine with excellent fruit. the black berries came out to play after some air, and the paso grenache was front and center with some dark chocolate overtones. This will come into its own after a couple of years. Wish I had more, but 2013 sounds like a good year as well.

Blackberry, raspberry, mineral. A hint of raisin. A little more acid than might prefer for balance, but overall quite good.

Unfortunately had to pop and pour. My favorite of the Epoch 2010's, blue and black fruits, old leather, structural balance, and such a lithe mouthfeel.

Nice GSM. Needs a lot of air for the jam and strong initial alcohol to blow off. The Grenache is most evident. Super long finish.

Slow Ox for 2 hours. Was the WOTN as part of a blind tasting of 8 different varietals. Tempranillo is one of my favorite grapes and this one hits the sweet spot. Deep Purple color. Dark fruits, chocolate, spices. Big layered wine with long finish and perfect balance. Drinking very well right now, already throwing off a lot of sediment. Just great juice.

Popped the bottle that was accessed about 40 days prior with Coravin. No evidence of oxidation or change. Notes consistent with prior tasting note on 4/22. This bottle followed finishing off a decent bottle of Chianti Classico Riserva. Interesting comparison in the huge extra dimension of fruit this displayed.

Perhaps the best bottle of Epoch I have had. Lovely floral nose, and a wide open palate of red and black berry with sweet spice and a touch of herb on the finish. Still youthful, but with none of the heat that I sometime get with Epoch which requires a long decant. 5-7 years left on this, I would think.

This Grenache is still in its infancy and aging is needed. The cool climate of 2011 had a profound affect on the dark red fruits producing a wine that needs at couple more years in the bottle. Rich at the core with a youthful bitterness that I didn't like but it will evolve. On the palate is mid weight with herbs, graphite, soil and Kirsch and mediums tannins. I'll try again in 2017.
